V-101 and V-101C Atmospheric
Type Vacuum Breakers
TYPICAL INSTALLATION
An atmospheric type vacuum breaker shall be installed to prevent back siphonage of
contaminated water into the potable water system. The valve shall be bronze with a silicone
rubber seat. Vacuum breakers should always be installed on the discharge side (down stream
side) of the control or supply valve. The Cash Acme V-101 atmospheric type vacuum breaker
valve should be installed in an upright position as shown below with the inlet of the breaker at
least 6” above the maximum height of the equipment.
