USING THE CAMERA WITH A COMPUTER
Playing Movies
Windows Media Player, which is already installed on most 
computers, can be used for movie playback. To play back a 
movie, first copy the movie to your computer and then double-
click the movie file.
In order to play a movie recorded with this camera on your 
computer using Windows Media Player, you need to install the 
MPEG-4 codec. The method you should use to install the codec 
depends on whether or not you have access to an Internet 
connection. Perform either of the procedures below, in 
accordance with your Internet availability. 
■ Installing the Codec on a Computer that Can 
Connect to the Internet 
1. Connect your computer to the Internet. 
2. Double-click the movie file that was recorded 
with the camera. 
If your PC does not have the MPEG-4 codec installed, it will 
connect to the Microsoft website automatically and 
download it. 
3. Install the downloaded MPEG-4 codec. 
After installation is complete, playback of the movie file will 
start automatically.

• If your computer already has the MPEG-4 codec installed, 
it will start playing the movie as soon as you double-click it.
