2. Select the distribution type you want to use for the probability value calculation.
Here we want to select binomial distribution. Confirm that
“Binomial” is highlighted and then press w.
This displays the binomial distribution parameter input
screen.
3. Specify the Tail setting.
Confirm that Tail is highlighted, and then press one of the function keys from 1 to 4.
The following explains the meaning of each of the available settings.
1(
) ... Specifies data value x, and calculates cumulative probability within the range
equal to or less than
x.
2(
) ... Specifies the data value Lower boundary (Lower) and Upper boundary
(Upper), and calculates cumulative probability within that range.
3(
) ... Specifies data value x, and calculates cumulative probability within the range
equal to or greater than x.
4(
) ... Specifies data value x, and calculate probability for x.
Here, we are calculating cumulative probability when
x 2, so we press 1( ).
4. Input values for the parameters.
• Use c to move the highlighting to the desired parameter, and then input a value.
(1) Highlight “
x”, input 2, and then press w.
(2) Highlight “Numtrial”, input 5, and then press w.
(3) Highlight “
p”, input 0.5, and then press w.
Note
If you need detailed information about each parameter,
press the parameter input screen’s 6(DETAIL) key.
The parameters whose values you need to input depend
on your Tail setting and selected distribution type. For
details, see the “Parameter List” (page 18-3).
5. To execute the calculation, use c to highlight “Execute” and then press 1(EXE).
If you have input all of the required parameters, pressing w executes the calculation, no
matter which parameter is highlighted.
This displays the graph screen, which shows the
calculation results and the graph.
At this time, you can change the highlighted x value and re-calculate the cumulative
probability.
