u Entering an Examination Mode
• Only the settings below are saved before entering an Examination Mode.
Input/Output (not saved in the case of the Examination Mode for NL), Frac Result, Angle,
Complex Mode, Display, Q1Q3 Type, Language, Function menu language, Battery Type
1. Press !o(OFF) to turn off the calculator.

Depending on the Examination Mode you want to enter, perform either of the operations
below.
Examination Mode for IB:
While holding down the c(E) and h(M) keys, press the
o key. This displays the “Enter Examination Mode for
IB?” dialog box.
Examination Mode for UK (fx-CG50/fx-CG50 AU only):
While holding down the b(U) and ,(K) keys, press the
o key. This displays the “Enter Examination Mode for
UK?” dialog box.
Examination Mode for NL:
While holding down the i(N) and a(L) keys, press the
o key. This displays the “Enter Examination Mode for
NL?” dialog box.
Examination Mode for Texas (US) (fx-CG50/fx-CG50
AU only):
While holding down the /(T) and +(X) keys, press the
o key. This displays the “Enter Examination Mode for
Texas (US)?” dialog box.
3. Press 1(Yes).
4. Next, after reading the message on the dialog box that appears, press 2.
• If, in step 2 of this operation, you performed the key
operation to enter any Examination Mode besides
Examination Mode for IB, an ATTENTION dialog will
appear at this time. To continue with the operation and
enter the Examination Mode you specified in step 2,
press 1(Yes). If you are about to take an IB exam,
press 6(No) to return to step 2, and then perform the
key operation to enter Examination Mode for IB.
5. Press J.
