Never try to use any other type of battery. Battery Loading and Charging 1. Open the cover.
To replace the battery 1. Hold down the [POWER] button for about two seconds to turn off power, and then remove the battery cover (page 12). 2. Remove the current battery and load a new one. As shown in the illustration, pull up the edge of the battery to remove it. 3. Close the battery cover (page 12). IMPORTANT! • The [STATUS] lamp will flash green for some time after you press the [POWER] button to turn off the camera. Never remove the battery while the [STATUS] lamp is flashing green.
Charge the Battery A USB-AC adaptor and power cord are not included with this product. Use the included USB cable as shown below to charge. IMPORTANT! • USB charging compatible devices and power supply devices (which are sold as usable for USB charging) normally meet specific standards. Do not use an inferior device or one that does not meet the required standards. Doing so can cause malfunction or failure of this camera.
IMPORTANT! • A battery that has not been used for a long time and/or ambient temperature can cause charging to take longer than normal. These conditions may also cause the [POWER] lamp to flash red. If this happens, refer to page 84. • Pressing the [POWER] button while the USB-AC adaptor is connected to the camera will turn on the camera with power being supplied by the battery. Because of this, charging will stop. • The USB-AC adaptor will become warm during charging.
