Working with POS Terminal
Function key Description
Quantity Use as a multiplication function to record the number of any specic item sold. Quantity is a required
key and is included in the standard layout for both the POS Terminal and standard keyboards.
Receipt Line Feed Advances the receipt printer paper by one line at a time to allow for the feeding of new rolls of paper.
Receipt On/O Turns the printing of receipts on or o. This button toggles between the two states. You can override this
only if a tender function has the Enforce Receipt Printing option selected.
Retrieve Transaction Displays the list of all held transactions. Select a transaction from this list to continue the sale. If only one
transaction is currently on hold, this appears instead of the list.
Return/Refund Records the return of items sold or refund of money paid. This function can be used within a transaction
or by itself.
Also doubles as a Bin/Write-o function when you select the Bin/Write-o check box.
Run External
Application
Sets up a function key to activate another software application of your choice.
Sales Person Selects the sales person for a transaction.
If you enter your ID before selecting the function, the ID is accepted as your sales person ID. If you do
not enter your ID, POS Terminal opens the Sales Person list and you can select your sales person ID. If
security is enabled, the Sales Person function key opens the logon window.
Send Message (this
is only available in
POS Enterprise and
Professional)
Works similarly to email and allows for typed communication between POS terminals. Terminals can also
send messages to POS Administrator to enable communication between the POS terminals and back
oce computers.
