Using the generator
1. Make sure the generator can supply enough running and starting watts for the items you will
power at the same time.
2. Start the generator with nothing connected.
3. Plug in and turn on the rst load, preferably the largest load you have.
4. Permit the generator output to stabilize (engine runs smoothly and attached device operates
properly).
5. Plug in and turn on the next load.
6. Again, permit the generator to stabilize.
7. Repeat previous two steps for each additional load. IMPORTANT: Never add more loads than
the generator capacity. Take special care to consider surge loads in generator capacity.
Add oil.
Install the feet.
Remove all devices
connected to the unit.
Rotate the fuel valve to
the OPEN position.
After 10-15 seconds,
close the choke.
Rotate the start switch
to RUN.
Secure the handle.
Connect the battery. (Negative) Add oil to this level.
Complete the rotation
to START.
Add fuel.
Install the wheels.
Rotate the start switch
to the OFF position.
Open the choke.
Close the fuel valve.
Fuel Valve: CLOSED-----OPEN
Start Switch: OFF-----RUN-----START

Do not connect to a building’s electrical system
unless the generator and transfer switch have
been properly installed and the electrical output
has been veried by a qualied electrician. The
connection must isolate the generator power from
utility power and must comply with all applicable
laws and electrical codes.

An occasional light “knocking” or
“pinging” under heavy load is not a
cause for concern. However, if the
knocking or pinging occurs under normal
load at steady engine speed, the
problem may be with the quality of the
gasoline used.
Fill fuel tank
Drain entire system and rell with
fresh fuel
Engine is equipped with protection
shutdown when oil level is too low.
Check oil level and ll as necessary.
Turn fuel valve to ON position
Replace spark plug
Close the choke to OFF position
Drain fuel and carburetor. Refuel
with fresh gasoline.
Charge battery and check
connections
Drain entire system and rell with
fresh fuel
Inspect spark plug and replace
if necessary
Drain fuel and carburetor. Refuel
with fresh gasoline.
Turn ON the AC circuit breaker
Connect a different device to test
Switch to a different brand of
gasoline, making sure that the
octane rating is 86 or higher
Connect your devices.
