On the base, plug one end of the power adaptor cord into the power jack on the back of the base and the other end into an electrical outlet. Press the HOLD / FORMAT button. The handset display shows LINE ON HOLD. 2. Press the HOLD / FORMAT button to cancel and return to your phone conversation. Note: The line will be on hold forever if you forget to press the hold to release the hold even tough you recradle the Handset on base or charger.

Either handset user may press the TALK button to answer the call. Using Intercom with External Telephone Calls During a telephone call, you may use the intercom/paging function to page another handset and have an off line, private (two-way) intercom conversation.

For Caller ID to work on this system, you must subscribe to Caller ID service. To receive Caller ID information for a Call Waiting call, you must subscribe to the combined Call Waiting Caller ID service. This telephone system receives and displays CID information transmitted by your local telephone company.

Make sure the telephone line cord is connected to the base and the wall jack. • Connect another phone to the same jack. If it doesn’t work, the problem might be your wiring or local service. • The handset may be out of range of the base.
