Installation Instructions:
Location Selection
Find a central location for the panel so as to allow equal lengths of wire to be run to locations throughout the home. The l ocation of the panel should be so that the surrounding temperatures do not exceed
122º F (50º C) or go below 32º F (0º C). Exposure to high humidity levels should be avoided so as to prevent condensation in the panel.
Caution: Consult local building and electrical codes before installing any equipment.
Step 1:
Installation of Back Panel
Place plate with telephone 110 IDC on wall location and trace openings for cutouts on wall (see Figure 1). Now trace openings for four (4) installation holes. Remove plate and make cutouts for
cables.
Insert drywall anchors. Now pull both telephone and coax cables through the opening in the wall and the plate (see Figure 2). Using the supplied screws, attach the plate to the wall.
Step 2: Installation of Telephone Wires
Install the wire from the telephone demarcation point to the 110 IDC marked from Telco (see Figure 3).
Install the twisted pair cables from each location in the house to the remaining 110 IDC connectors. Match the color-coding of the wires to the colors on the 110 IDC connectors. Incoming
phone service can be tested using the test port.
All cables should be punched down, using an industry standard punch-down tool, to the 110 IDC connectors following the T568A wiring configuration as shown below.
Line 1 is Blue, Line 2 is Orange, Line 3 is Green and Line 4 is Brown.
Step 3: Installation of Coax Cables
Attach an F-connector onto the cable TV service or satellite service incoming cable. Screw the incoming cable with F-connector to the splitter connector marked input (see Figure 4).
Connect F-connectors to all coaxial cables that have been pulled through the opening in the wall plate. Connect these remaining cables to the splitter.
Secure the cover of the 5050 module to the back panel and tighten screws located at the top and bottom of the back plate of the module (see Figure 5).
