PERSONAL SAFETY 1. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating the Brake Fluid Bleeder. Do not use the tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the tool may result in serious personal injury. 2. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and jewelry away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts. 3.
2. When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the “Inspection, Maintenance, And Cleaning” section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions may create a risk of injury. SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES 1. Maintain a safe working environment. Keep the work area well lit. Make sure there is adequate surrounding workspace. Always keep the work area free of obstructions, grease, oil, trash, and other debris.
10. Some brake pads contain asbestos. Asbestosis, a chronic lung inflammation, can result from prolonged inhalation of asbestos particles. Accordingly, wear appropriate ANSI approved respiratory devices and proper protective clothing when working near any brake pads. • 11. Do not use pressurized air to blow off brake dust. Only use brake parts cleaner to clean dust off of the brake calipers.
2. Make sure the vehicle engine is off. Then, chock the vehicle wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving. 3. Fill the New Fluid Supply Bottle (1) with up to 24 ounces of clean, new, brake fluid. (Use only the kind of brake fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.) Then, screw the Supply Nozzle (2) onto the New Fluid Supply Bottle. NOTE: Make sure the Knob on the Supply Nozzle is turned to its “CLOSED” position. (See Figure B.) 4. Remove the cap from the vehicle’s master cylinder.
9. Attach the Brake Bleeding Hose w/Connector (5) to the Bleeder Screw on the vehicle wheel. Then, connect the air compressor’s air hose to the Handle of the Gun Assembly (6). (See Figure D.) (See Figure A.) 11. Squeeze the Lever of the Gun Assembly (6) to create a vacuum in its Old Fluid Container (4). (See Figure D.
12. Using a bleeder screw wrench (not included), open the bleeder screw until brake fluid starts to flow through the Brake Bleeding Hose w/Connector (5). (See Figure D.) 13. Squeeze the Lever of the Gun Assembly (6) until the old brake fluid flows freely into the Old Fluid Container (4). When clean, new brake fluid (with no bubbles) begins to flow into the Old Fluid Container discontinue squeezing the Lever of the Gun Assembly. Then, retighten the wheel’s bleeder screw. (See Figure D.) 14.
INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING 1. Before each use: Inspect the general condition of the Brake Fluid Bleeder. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged Hoses, loose connections, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If a problem occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment. 2. When cleaning: USE A CLEAN, DRY CLOTH ONLY. Do not use any cleaners, solvents, water, or other liquids. 3.
