Safety lever in lower or “FIRE” position. Pulling
the trigger when the safety lever is in the lower
position will result in the rifle firing if there is a
round in the chamber! Exercise extreme caution
when handling rifle in this condition.

Safety: The safety lever is in the “SAFE” position when it is moved to its uppermost (top
position) on the receiver. You should hear an audible “click” when it is correctly in place. (See
Illustration #2.) NOTE: When the safety lever is in its lower position on the receiver, the
gun is in the “FIRE” position. (See Illustration #3.)
