Position Reporting
Position reporting intervals are determined by the values of 3 parameters. These are Minimum Time,
Maximum Time and Distance. The default programming is to send position every 5 minutes when the
vehicle has moved 1000 feet and to send every hour when it is idle.
If fixed time interval reporting is desired all that is required is the minimum time interval. Please note that
sending position uses data and if this done too frequently it is quite possible that there will be data usage
overages. These can get quite costly.
Use Fixed Time Interval position reporting. Time interval:
Report more frequently while moving and less while idle or parked. Moving time interval: ,
Idle time interval: , Distance required for movement: .
Our default values for these parameters are as follows. These parameters were calculated from reviewing
the usage patterns of hundred of companies and thousands of mobile devices.
Fixed Interval 5 minutes
Report more frequently while moving 1 minute while moving
60 minutes while idle
1000 feet (~305 meters) required for movement
