Component Video Balun
Use to send Y/Pb/Pr component video signals over
Cat 5 cable. This balun features three gold plated
male RCA connectors on the end of 8" pigtails color
coded red, green and blue. Additionally, a female
orange RCA connector provides path for digital audio
(SPDIF). Included is a hook and loop tape set which
allows direct attachment to the rear of plasma and
other monitors. Cat 5 connection is a single female
RJ-45 jack. Utilizes four pairs: •Red: Pin 7/8

Take advantage of Cat 5 (or higher) cable for
interconnecting A/V components over long distances.
Common signal formats such as composite video,
RGB component video, S–video and line level audio
can easily be sent over UTP cable distances up to
400'. In retrofit applications, utilize existing unused
pairs of Cat 5 data cable already in place. In new
construction, take advantage of the smaller size and
lower cost of Cat 5 cable when distributing signals
throughout the structure. Housed in compact ABS
enclosures, each balun accepts standard RJ-45 male
connectors. Completely passive design, these units
require no power. Each unit is clearly labeled to
identify which RJ-45 connector pair is used for the
designated signal path. Sold individually, all
baluns must be used in pairs.
