Impala 2007 B 4 9/14/06 3:23 PM Page 4 Getting to Know Your Impala Driver Information Center (DIC) Your vehicle’s Driver Information Center (DIC) provides vehicle information, vehicle warning messages and vehicle feature customization. The DIC messages will be shown on your instrument panel cluster display. The DIC display also shows the outside air temperature and compass direction (if equipped). To operate the DIC, the ignition switch must be on.

Impala 2007 B 6 9/14/06 3:23 PM Page 6 Getting to Know Your Impala Setting the Compass To adjust for compass variance when traveling on a long-distance trip or to calibrate the compass, follow the procedures in the DIC section of the Owner Manual. See Section 3 of your Owner Manual. SAFETY & SECURITY Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) (Trunk Release): Press and hold this button to unlatch the trunk lid. You can open the trunk with the transmitter when the vehicle is in Park.

All children should be secured in a rear seat, including an infant riding in a rear-facing infant seat, a child riding in a forward-facing child seat or an older child riding in a booster seat. See Sections 1 and 3 of your Owner Manual.

Impala 2007 B 8 9/14/06 3:23 PM Page 8 Getting to Know Your Impala Lumbar Adjustment Shoulder Belt Height Adjustment A Adjust the lumbar support using the lumbar handle located on the outboard side of the driver’s seat. Ratchet the handle up to increase support and down to decrease support. See Section 1 of your Owner Manual. Heated Seats (if equipped) B The shoulder belt can be adjusted to the height that is right for you. Push the buttons (A) on the sides of the adjuster to move it down.

Impala 2007 B 9/14/06 3:23 PM Page 9 9 Power Mirror Controls The power outside rearview mirrors can be adjusted using the controls located on the driver’s door. Use the bottom switch to select the driver-side or passenger-side mirror; and then use the control pad to adjust the selected mirror up, down or side to side. The mirror will move only when the control pad is in the 12, 3, 6 or 9 o’clock position. Move the selector switch to the center position when not adjusting either mirror.

Each visor can be detached from the center retainer and slid along the rod to cover different areas of the front window and rotated to cover the side window. See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

EQ (Automatic Equalization): Press this button to select preset equalization settings. CAT (Category) (if equipped): Press this button to find XM stations within a desired category. Auxiliary Input Jack: A portable audio player can be connected to the auxiliary input jack located on the radio.

Press the MENU button to display the radio setup menu. 3. Press the pushbutton below the auto volume label on the radio display. 4. Press the pushbutton under the desired setting (Off, Low, Medium or High) to select the level of compensation. For the Bose system, the settings are On and Off. 5.

Impala 2007 B 9/14/06 3:23 PM Page 13 13 Multiple-Disc CD Player (if equipped) With the in-dash 6-Disc CD Player, note that you cannot directly load a CD as in single-play systems. To Load a Single CD: • Press and release the (LOAD) button. Wait for the display prompt before loading the CD. To Load Multiple CDs: • Press and hold the (LOAD) button for two seconds. Follow the display prompts to load each CD. Press the (LOAD) button again to cancel loading more CDs.

(Next/Previous): Press the up or down arrow to go to the next or previous radio station stored as a Favorite or, when a CD is playing, to the next or previous track.

Impala 2007 B 9/14/06 3:23 PM Page 15 15 Canceling a Remote Start If you wish to turn off the engine instead of driving after a Remote Vehicle Start, perform one of the following functions: • Press and hold the button until the parking lamps turn off. • Press and release the Hazard Warning Flashers button inside the vehicle. Press the button again to turn off the flashers. • Turn the key in the ignition switch to On and then Off. • The engine will automatically stop when time expires.

(On/Off): Press this button to turn the cruise control system on or off. + RES (Resume): Press this button to resume a set speed, or to increase the set speed if the system is set. – SET (Set): Press this button to set a speed, or to decrease the set speed if the system is set.

To access the cupholders on models without a center console, fold the front portion of the front center seat forward. See Section 2 of your Owner Manual. Folding Rear Seat (if equipped) The split rear seats flip and fold to provide more cargo space and access to the trunk. An additional storage compartment is located under the seat cushions. Impala 2007 B 18 9/14/06 3:24 PM Page 18 Getting to Know Your Impala Courtesy Lamps When a door is opened, the courtesy lamps automatically illuminate. These lamps also can be turned on by rotating the instrument panel brightness control clockwise all the way. The reading lamps, located on the rearview mirror, can be turned on or off independent of the courtesy lamps by pressing the buttons on the bottom of the mirror, when the doors are closed. See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

However, at the next vehicle startup, the DIC message will reappear if the tire pressure has not been corrected. You may notice during cooler conditions that the low tire pressure warning light will appear when the vehicle is first started and then turn off as you start to drive the vehicle.
