Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid DRIVING YOUR HYBRID Hybrid System Your Tahoe or Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid drives just like a regular vehicle, but it has several fuel-saving features that increase vehicle efficiency and maximize fuel economy. The hybrid features of your vehicle are enabled after the engine warms up to proper operating temperature.

Economy Gauge While in Auto Stop, all of the regular vehicle features are available, such as power steering and brakes, the audio system and power accessories. After parking the vehicle and turning off the engine by rotating the key to the Off position, the tachometer needle will move to the Off position. See your Hybrid Owner Manual. The economy gauge shows when vehicle fuel economy is being maximized.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid The Engine Will Restart When: With the engine off in Auto Stop mode, certain conditions may require the engine to restart. Some conditions that would lead to an engine restart include: • The accelerator pedal is applied, demanding heavy acceleration. This will not occur when the vehicle is in Park. • The engine is required to run to help achieve the selected climate control heating and/or cooling setting.

stored in the vehicle’s Hybrid Energy Storage System for later use by the hybrid system, contributing to increased fuel economy. The braking system is computer controlled and blends the operation of the regenerative braking with the conventional hydraulic disc brakes. The system applies the brakes through a high pressure accumulator. You may hear the motor-driven pump when it runs to recharge the accumulator pressure. This recharging cycle is normal.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid Driver Information Center Your vehicle’s Driver Information Center (DIC) provides vehicle information, vehicle warning messages and vehicle feature customization. The DIC messages will be shown on your instrument panel cluster display. To operate the DIC, the ignition switch must be on.

Continue to press the desired button to cycle through the temperature settings of High (three indicator lights), Medium (two indicator lights), Low (one indicator light) and Off (all indicator lights are off). See Section 1 of your Owner Manual. To set the automatic mode: 1. Press the AUTO button. 2. Set the driver’s and front passenger’s temperature using the + or – temperature buttons.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid AUX or REAR (Rear Climate Control): Press this button to turn the rear climate control system on or off. The button indicator will illuminate when the rear system is on. (Defrost): Press this button to direct most of the air to the windshield and some air to the side window outlets. (Rear Window Defogger): Press this button to activate the rear window defogger and the heated outside rearview mirrors.

ENTERTAINMENT Navigation Entertainment System System Controls To operate the Navigation Entertainment System, press the hard keys next to the touch screen to access the main menus. Touch the words or commands shaped like a button in the on-screen menus and submenus to select system functions. The controls and hard keys of the system include: (Power/Volume): Press this knob to turn the system on or off. Turn the knob to adjust the volume.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid To preset radio stations: 1. Press the AUDIO hard key to access the audio source screen and select the desired band (AM, FM, or XM, if equipped). 2. Use the SEEK hard keys or the Tune knob to select a station. 3. Press the FAV hard key to select the desired page of presets (up to six pages). 4. Touch and hold one of the five radio preset screen buttons until a beep sounds or the station is displayed on the screen button.

Audio Steering Wheel Controls The following audio controls are located on the right side of the steering wheel: + – (Volume): Pull up on the + or – button to increase or decrease the volume. (Next/Previous/End): Press the up or down arrow to go to the next or previous radio station stored as a favorite or, when a CD is playing, to the next or previous track. Press the (End) button to end or reject an OnStar or Bluetooth call.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid • Press the SRCE (Source) button to select an entertainment source — radio, CD, or DVD (if equipped). • Turn the left volume knob to adjust the volume of the left wired headphones and the right volume knob to adjust the volume of the right wired headphones.

(Off/On): Turn the knob to this position to turn off the Automatic Headlamp System and Daytime Running Lamps. Turn the knob to this position again to turn on the system. (Parking Lamps): This position turns on the parking lamps and taillamps. (Headlamps): This position turns on the headlamps, parking lamps and taillamps. See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid Wipers and Washers Windshield Wipers and Washer The controls for the windshield wipers are located on the multifunction lever on the left side of the steering column. The wipers band can be rotated to the following positions: (Mist): Rotate the band down to this position to turn the wipers on for one wipe. (Off): Rotate the wipers to this position to turn off the wipers.

Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist This feature uses ultrasonic sensors on the rear bumper to help you avoid colliding with objects when parking the vehicle. It operates only at speeds less than 5 mph. The rear parking assist display is located near the rear window. The lights on the display provide distance information. Low-toned continuous beeps play out of the speakers when objects are within 23 inches (0.6 m) of the rear bumper.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid 115-Volt Power Outlet The 115-volt, householdstyle power outlet is located in the cargo area. It is powered by your vehicle’s 12-volt battery. With the ignition turned to the Accessory or On position, it provides convenient plug-in power to operate a variety of small electronic equipment. See your Hybrid Owner Manual. Folding 2nd-Row Seats The 2nd-row seats fold and tumble to provide more cargo space as well as access to the 3rd-row seats.

2. Pull down the seat until it latches to the floor. 3. Lift up the seatback until it locks in place. Pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked. To remove the seat: • With the seat folded down, pull rearward on the handle located in the center of the seat. The latches will become disengaged, allowing the seat to be easily pulled rearward. To reinstall seat: 1. Align the rollers on the bottom of the seat track with the latches on the floor. 2. Push the seat forward until it latches.

Getting to Know Your Tahoe/Yukon 2-Mode Hybrid Note: The Remote Vehicle Start feature will not operate if the key is in the ignition, the hood or liftgate is open, or the Check Engine light is illuminated on the instrument cluster. Canceling a Remote Start To turn off the engine instead of driving after a remote start: • Press and hold the button until the parking lamps turn off. • Press and release the Hazard Warning Flashers button. Press it again to turn off the flashers.

You can temporarily clear the DIC message by acknowledging it with your DIC controls. However, at the next vehicle start-up, the DIC message will reappear if the tire pressure has not been corrected. During cooler conditions, the low tire pressure warning light may appear when the vehicle is first started and then turn off as you start to drive. This could be an early indicator that your tire pressures are getting low and the tires need to be inflated to the proper pressure.
