Push the tab forward for daytime use and pull it for nighttime use to reduce glare. The passenger sensing system will turn off the front outboard passenger frontal airbag and knee airbag under certain conditions.

Performance and Maintenance Anti-Pinch Feature Traction Control/ Electronic Stability Control If an object is in the path of the sunroof when it is closing, the anti-pinch feature detects the object and stops the sunroof from closing at the point of the obstruction.

Passive Locking This feature will lock the vehicle several seconds after all doors are closed, if the vehicle is off and at least one RKE transmitter has been removed from the interior or none remain in the interior.

Insert the new vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn the key, counterclockwise, to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4 or 5. 3. Remove the recognized transmitter and place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket. 4.

After the third time, all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE # 1. 4. Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket. The transmitter pocket is inside the center console storage area.

Always lock the vehicle whenever leaving it. Unlocked doors can be dangerous. . . Black plate (10,1) Passengers, especially children, can easily open the doors and fall out of a moving vehicle. When a door is locked, the handle will not open it.

Five seconds after the last door is closed, all of the doors will lock. To cancel the delay and lock the doors immediately, press Q on the RKE transmitter or the power door lock switch a second time.

Press v { to activate the safety locks on the rear doors. The indicator light in the switch will illuminate when activated. The rear door power windows are also disabled. See Power Windows on page 2-18. Press v { again to deactivate the lockout switch.

Pull the release handle sideways to open the trunk from the inside. Vehicle Security This vehicle has theft-deterrent features; however, they do not make the vehicle impossible to steal. Vehicle Alarm System This vehicle has an anti-theft alarm system.

The alarm will also be activated if the passenger door, the trunk, or the hood is opened without first disarming the system. When the alarm is activated, the turn signals flash and the horn sounds for about 30 seconds. The alarm system will then re-arm to monitor for the next unauthorized event.

Turn the vehicle off and try again. If the RKE transmitter appears to be undamaged, try another transmitter or if equipped with Keyless Access, place the transmitter in the transmitter pocket in the center console.

This feature tilts the outside mirrors to a preselected position when the vehicle is in R (Reverse). This allows the driver to view the curb for parallel parking.
