The Essential Digital Audio Baby Monitor gives
you clear contact with your child home and
away from home. The FHSS (Frequency Hopping
Spread Spectrum) digital technology used allows
reception with high immunity to interference
from analogue devices. Baby monitors that
use this technology continuously verify
connection between units (child and parent)
and automatically select a new channel as soon
as any interference is detected. The devices offer
a range of 200 metres in an open space without
obstacles. Digital technology combined with a
modern design and a compact form. When the
light function on the child unit is activated, it
becomes a practical nightlight to reassure your
child while he sleeps, with the dual function of
nightlight or fading light.

GENERAL WARNINGS
• Do not leave any packaging materials (plastic
bags, cardboard boxes, etc.) within the reach of
children as these can be hazardous.
• Before using the device, verify that no products
or components are damaged. If it is damaged,
do not use the product and contact a qualified
technician or your retailer.
• Never attempt to repair the product, but
simply follow the instructions provided in the
“Troubleshooting” section. Contact Artsana S.p.A.
Customer Service for repairs.
• Do not open equipment. The child unit (primarily
in transmitter mode), the parent unit (primarily
in receiver mode), the rechargeable lithium-ion
battery and mains adapters do not contain any
user serviceable parts. Contact skilled technical
personnel or Artsana S.p.A. Customer Service
in the event of failure. Opening the above-
mentioned devices can cause electric shock.
• The Chicco Essential Digital Audio Baby Monitor
should not be used as a medical monitor and
is not intended to replace the supervision of
children by adults; it is designed to provide a way
of supporting their surveillance. All other use is to
be considered improper.
• Place the child unit and parent unit out of the
reach of the child on a flat, stable surface
• Keep the child unit, parent unit, the rechargeable
lithium-ion battery and the AC/DC mains
adapters out of reach of children (mains adapter
cords could cause strangulation).
• It is important to regularly check the proper
functioning of the child unit (primarily in
transmitter mode) and the parent unit (primarily
in receiver mode), particularly before each use,
checking that signal reception is possible in the
area and at a maximum distance of the intended
use.
• The maximum operating distance is around 200
metres in an open space without obstacles (this
range could be reduced considerably indoors
according to the environmental situations,
the layout of walls and furniture, the presence
of metal structures, electromagnetic fields/
disturbances of internal or external origin,
reinforced concrete walls, when rooms are
located on different floors, or when the batteries
are not charged completely etc.)
• When the child unit and/or parent unit
are powered with alkaline batteries and/or
rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the product
will stop working if the charging level is not
sufficient. It is therefore always advisable to check
alkaline batteries and/or rechargeable lithium-ion
battery status when switching on both units.
• In the event of a sudden electricity outage, when
the parent unit (primarily in receiver mode) is
being powered with the provided mains adapter,
the product will stop working only if the charging
level of the rechargeable lithium-ion battery
is not sufficient or the battery is not inserted in
the battery compartment. It is therefore always
advisable to check the status or installation.
• Do not use the child unit (primarily in
transmitter mode), the parent unit (primarily
in receiver mode), the rechargeable lithium-ion
battery and adapters in positions exposed to the
elements (rain, sun, etc.). Whenever using the unit
outdoors, the child unit (primarily in transmitter

Il simbolo del cestino barrato riportato sull’apparecchio indica che il prodotto, alla fine della
propria vita utile, dovendo essere trattato separatamente dai rifiuti domestici, deve essere
conferito in un centro di raccolta differenziata per apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche
oppure riconsegnato al rivenditore al momento dell’acquisto di una nuova apparecchiatura
equivalente. L’utente è responsabile del conferimento dell’apparecchio a fine vita alle appropriate strutture
di raccolta. L’adeguata raccolta differenziata per l’avvio successivo dell’apparecchio dismesso al riciclaggio,
al trattamento e allo smaltimento ambientalmente compatibile contribuisce ad evitare possibili effetti
negativi sull’ambiente e sulla salute e favorisce il riciclo dei materiali di cui è composto il prodotto. Lo
smaltimento abusivo del prodotto da parte dell’utente comporta delle sanzioni amministrative
di cui al D.lgs. n. 22/1997 (art.50 e seguenti del D.lgs 22/97).Per informazioni più dettagliate inerenti i
sistemi di raccolta disponibili, rivolgersi al servizio locale di smaltimento rifiuti, o al negozio in cui è stato
effettuato l’acquisto.
CONFORMITA’ ALLA DIRETTIVA EU 2006/66/EC
Il simbolo del cestino barrato riportato sulle pile o sulla confezione del prodotto, indica che
le stesse, alla fine della propria vita utile, dovendo essere trattate separatamente dai rifiuti
domestici, non devono essere smaltite come rifiuto urbano, ma devono essere conferite in un
centro di raccolta differenziata oppure riconsegnate al rivenditore al momento dell’acquisto di pile ricari-
cabili e non ricaricabili nuove equivalenti. L’eventuale simbolo chimico Hg, Cd, Pb, posto sotto al cestino
barrato indica il tipo di sostanza contenuta nella pila, Hg=Mercurio, Cd=Cadmio, Pb=Piombo. L’utente è
responsabile del conferimento delle pile a fine vita alle appropriate strutture di raccolta al fine di agevolare
il trattamento e il riciclaggio.
L’adeguata raccolta differenziata per l’avvio successivo delle pile esauste al riciclaggio, al trattamento e
allo smaltimento ambientalmente compatibile contribuisce ad evitare possibili effetti negativi sull’am-
biente e sulla salute umana e favorisce il riciclo delle sostanze di cui sono composte le pile. Lo smaltimento
abusivo del prodotto da parte dell’utente comporta danni all’ambiente e alla salute umana. Per informa-
zioni più dettagliate inerenti i sistemi di raccolta disponibili, rivolgersi al servizio locale di smaltimento
rifiuti, o al negozio in cui è stato effettuato l’acquisto.
