Welcome to TruColor HS TruColor HS™ delivers an unprecedented volume of soft light optimized for image capture, as well as other applications that demand accurate color rendering. By harnessing Remote Phosphor Technology (RPT), the TruColor HS equals the output of a 4K incandescent soft light using less than 450 watts of AC power. This means you can plug several units into a single 15 amp circuit and avoid the added cost of generators, fuel, and heavy cables.
General Notes 1. Please read through this manual carefully before operating TruColor HS, and keep this manual for future reference. 2. There are numerous safety instructions and warnings that must be adhered to for your own safety. 3. TruColor HS is not intended for residential use. It is intended for use in a professional studio. 4. TruColor HS and DX450 must be serviced by a qualified technician. 5. The TruColor HS and DX450 are rated as IP20 – for indoor use and in a dry environment. 6.
System Components, Connections and Controls The TruColor HS lamphead is controlled by an external power supply. The lamphead includes a cable-mounted, keyed multi-pin connector for connection to the PSU. To reduce strain on cable connector use provided cable retainer. There are 3 replaceable 150w LED boards on the fixture (replacement part # 261-0006) Two panel removal screws located on each side of the lamp head will release each accessory rails for access to LED boards and remote phosphor panels.
TruColor Lamphead Cables Cineo TruColor lamphead cables use a keyed Amphenol 7 pin connection type to control both power and data between the TruColor HS lamphead and power supply. Do not connect or disconnect lamphead cable when the PSU power is on. Maximum rated cable length between lamphead and power supply is 400ft (140m). Please reference the Cineo TruColor HS catalogue for available cable lengths.
DMX Connections TruColor HS uses industry standard 5-Pin XLR male and female connectors to receive DMX signals and output DMX signals. The DMX port is self-terminating and does not require external DMX termination when used in a chain. The DMX pin wiring is as follows: • Pin 1: Signal Common • Pin 2: Data • Pin 3: Data + • Pin 4: Spare • Pin 5: Spare DMX Operation Select the primary DMX address via the 3-segment push-button switches located on the front of the DX450.
To change panels, follow these steps: 1. Remove any accessories installed in the accessory slot. 2. Unthread the captive thumbscrews located on the accessory rail on both sides of the lamphead. 3. Pull out and move accessory rails to the back of the lamphead, as shown. LEDs will automatically shut off. 4. Remove panels and replace with panels correlating to the desired CCT, making sure that the panels are well-seated in the slots in the center bar. 5.
Operation After installation, attach lamphead cable between the PSU and lamphead. Do not connect or disconnect when the PSU power is on. Maximum length of lamphead cable is 400 feet (122m). Connect included AC power cord to PSU. Turn on power switch; the Red indicator above the switch should illuminate. The lamphead will turn on within two seconds. If dimming locally on the PSU, set the DMX address to “000”. The yellow “Local” indicator lights up and all control is through the on-board dimmer.
Warnings, Disclaimers and Warranty Risk of Electric shock / Risk of Fire Do not open. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No userserviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. Burning Injuries Be aware of high temperatures in excess of 50°C inside the lamphead during and after fixture use. Do not touch the LEDs to avoid burning injuries. Flammable Materials Keep flammable materials away from the installation.
