Card Settings
This box contains information about the Wi-Fi device you are currently
using. Fields include the following:
MAC address
The hardware address of the device. MAC (Media Access Control)
addresses are pre-configured by the device's manufacturer and usually
cannot be altered. These addresses are used for transferring data by
hardware-level protocols such as Ethernet and 802.11. Higher level
protocols such as the TCP/IP protocol suite used by the Internet have their
own addressing schemes, but still rely on the hardware-level protocol for
the transfer of data between individual nodes on a network.
Driver version
This is the version of the Wi-Fi modem driver for this device that is
currently installed on your computer.
Firmware version
This is the version of the device's on-board operating software.
Vendor Description
This is the name of your Wi-Fi modem.
