Cingular Communication Manager Help

GSM Connections Interface

The main interface for establishing GSM data connections is shown below.

Click on an area of interest for more information.

This window provides available network connection information,

connected/disconnected status, and access to various controls and

components of the Cingular Communication Manager software.

Wi-Fi Button

Click this button to switch to the Wi-Fi connection interface.

3G Indicator

This indicator appears when you have successfully established a

connection to a 3G (Third Generation) wireless network. 3G networks

generally provide higher data transfer rates than networks using older

wireless technologies.

Note that not all wireless devices support 3G connections. Moreover, some

devices are capable of establishing 3G data connections, but are not capable

of reporting the connection type to Communication Manager. This icon will

not appear if either of these is true of your wireless device.
