OUT OF SCANNING RANGE
Try adjusting the scanning distance from the scanner to the barcode.
CANNOT TRANSMIT/RECEIVE DATA
USING RS-232 CABLE
Check if the RS-232 connection is correct and secured.
Make sure the serial port settings o n your PC are consi stent with t he seri al
parameters on the mobile computer. Try to establish connection again.
If the problem persists , run the Echo Test to check if the RS-232 interface between
the mobile computer and your PC is working. (See 3.3.8 Echo Test
.)
USING USB CABLE
Check if the USB connection is correct and secured.
Check if the USB driver has been installed.
If the probl em persists, run the Echo Test to check if the USB i nterface between the
mobile computer and the host is working. (See 3.3.8 Echo Test
.)
Note: (1) If you are u sing USB Virt ual COM for the first time, you must install its driver
from t he CD -ROM. D river v ersion 5. 3 or lat er is requ ired. P lease remov e old er
versions! The virtual COM port will not be assigned until the USB port is in use.
(2) If you are u sing USB Virt ual C OM_CDC for t he f irst t ime, y ou mu st in stall it s
driver from the CD-ROM. USB CDC driver installer can be f ound in th e “Windows”
folder. It will proceed to install the driver to your PC.
(3) A standard USB ca ble releases a COM port in the following conditions: (i) the
cable is de tached fro m the mobile comput er directly, (ii) the cable is detached
from t he cradle dir ectly, ( iii) t he cable is at tached t o the cradle, bu t th e mobil e
computer is removed from the cradle, (iv) the mobile computer is powered off, (v)
no application that requires a virtual COM port is running on the mobile computer.
(4) For an application program that requir es a COM port to be occupied all the
time, it is suggested that you use a 308 USB Virtual COM Interface cable instead.
VIA BLUETOOTH
Make su re t he d istance b etween the mobile computer and a target devi ce i s wi thin
proper range. Try to establish connection again.
Check if the relevant settings are correct. (See 3.7 Bluetooth Menu.)
