Step 2. Change the “Equipment Set-up” as shown in Figure K17. Use the first RF port in the
RFS
Figure K17: Transmit Side (Measurements)
Step 3. Record the insertion loss dB level. Remember to subtract the loss introduced by the
Test Box from your reading.
Step 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 using the next RF port in the RFS until done for all eight RF
ports.

Step 5. Perform the “Equipment Set-up” as shown in Figures K18 to determine the reference
level by pressing on “Marker”, “Peak Search”, and “Marker Delta” on the Spectrum
Analyzer.
Remember to add later the loss introduced by the Test Box.
Insert RFS and the Test Box
y SG to JP-2 (test box side); JP-1 (test box top) to one
of the RF ports in the RFS; RFS Cal Port to the SA
Power Up the test box
Measure loss/gain introduced by that path through
the RFS (repeat for each path)
y Typical: +15 dB (3.5 GHz), -7 dB (2.4 GHz)
Subtract the loss at the Test Box

Amplitude: –20 dBm
The loss introduced by
the Test Box at different
frequencies can be read
on this label on the side
