Site Preparation Checklist
DC-Powered Systems
Basic guidelines include the following:
• Each chassis power supply should have its own dedicated input power source.
• The circuit must be protected by a dedicated two-pole circuit breaker. The
circuit breaker should be sized according to the power supply input rating and
local or national code requirements.
• The circuit breaker is considered the disconnect device and should be easily
accessible.
• The power supply ground should connect to protective earth ground even
though the system ground connection is provided.
• The DC return is to remain isolated from the system frame and chassis
(DC-I).
Site Preparation Checklist
Table 2-6 lists the site planning activities that you should perform prior to
installing the Cisco 7609 Internet Router. Completing each activity helps ensure
a successful switch installation.
