Connecting to Device Ports
Step 3 Connect the other end of the cable to the connecting device. For the RS232-DCE/RS485 port, the
RS232-DCE or RS485 LED turns on, depending on the type of serial communication used, when both
the gateway and the connected device have established a link. For the RS232-DTE port, the RS 232-DTE
LED turns on when both the WPAN gateway and the connected device have established a link.
Connecting to the 10/100 Fast Ethernet Port
To connect to the 10/100 Fast Ethernet port:
Step 1 Use a twisted four-pair, Category 5 or higher cable for connecting to the port.
Step 2 Connect the cable to the RJ-45 connector port. See Figure 2-25.

Step 3 Connect the other end of the cable to the connecting device. The 10/100 FE LED turns on when both the
WPAN gateway and the connected device have established a link.
