Requirements
Caution To comply with GR-1089-Core intrabuilding l ightning-immunity requirements, you must use shielded
(screened) cable that is gro unded at both ends.

Statement 7001—ES D Mitigation
This equipment may be ESD sensitive. Always use an ESD ankle or wrist strap before handling
equipment. Connect the equ ipment end of the ESD strap to an unfinished surface of the equipment
chassis or to the ESD jack on the equipment if provided.
Statement 7005—I ntra-buildin g Lightning Surge and AC Power Fault
Warning The intra-buildi ng port( s) of the equipm ent or su bassembl y is suit able for connecti on to int ra-bui lding
or unexposed wiring or cabl ing only. The intra -building port(s) of the equip ment or subass embly
MUST NOT metallically conn ect to interfaces that connect to the OSP or it s wiring. These int erfaces
are designed for use as intra-building interfaces only (Type 2 or Type 4 ports as described in
GR-1089-CORE, Issu e 4) and require iso lation from the exp osed OSP cabling. The addition of Prima ry
Protectors is not sufficient protection in order to connect these interfaces metallically to OSP wiring.
