Configurable M odules
All Catalyst 4900M modules support hot sw apping, which lets you inst all, remove, repla ce, and
rearrange switching modules without turning off the system power. When the system detects that a
switching module has been ins talled or removed, it runs diagnostic and discovery t ests automatically,
acknowledges the presence or a bsence of the module, and r esumes system operati on with no operator
intervention.
