Chapter 3 Installing the Switch
Configurable Modules
Required Tools
You will need these tools to install switching modules in the Catalyst 4900M series switches:
• Number 1 and number 2 Phillips screwdrivers for the captive installation screws
• 3/16-inch flat-blade screwdriver for the captive installation screws
• Antistatic mat or antistatic foam
• Wrist strap or other grounding device
Note Whenever you handle switching modules, use a wrist strap or other grounding device to prevent ESD
damage.

restricted access locat ion a nd us ers and servic e peopl e wh o are au thori zed wit hin th e res tricted
access location are made aware of t he hazar d. A restr icted access area ca n be acces sed only throug h
the use of a special tool, lock and key or other means of secu rity. Statement 1072
