Asynchronous Line and Reverse Telnet
Each cellular interface has one TTY line associated with it. The line will allow you to use reverse telnet
to the cellular modem located in the cellular HWIC.
Note Reverse telnet to the modem is allowed only when the modem is not in the data connection.
To reverse telnet to the cellular modem, perform the steps in this section. This section contains the
following subsections:

Configuring NAT Using the Cellular Modem
The following sample configuration shows the configuration of the router with NAT:
Command or Action Purpose
Step 1
show line
In Exec mode, this command shows the line that is
communicating to the interface.
Step 2
telnet
<cellular interface IP address
>
<line number>
Example:
Router# telnet 10.0.0.1 2001
Starts the reverse telnet session.
Note Add prefix 20 to line number.
Step 3
ATI
Gives information on the modem and verifies that
the modem is in the reverse telnet session.
Step 4
Press Ctrl+Shift+6 together, followed by lower case x Prepares to disconnect the reverse telnet session.
Step 5
At router prompt (#), enter disconnect Disconnects the reverse telnet session.
