CONFIGURING the SERVER
STEP 1 VERIFY SERVER SKU
Select one server product ID (PID) from Table 2.
The Cisco C240 M3 server:
Includes one tool-less rail kit (UCSC-RAIL-2U), adjustable from 26 inches (660 mm) to 36
inches (914 mm)
Includes either a 24- or 16-drive backplane.
Does not include power supply, CPU, memory, hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives
(SSDs), SD cards, or PCIe cards.

UCSC-C240-M3S UCS C240 M3 SFF, no CPU, memory, HDD, power supply, or PCIe, with rail kit,
24-drive backplane, and SAS expander
NOTE: Embedded RAID can only be used with the 16-drive backplane
version of the server.
Mezzanine cards can be used as follows:
A mezzanine card in a 16-drive backplane system supports up to 8
drives.
A mezzanine card in a 24-drive backplane system supports up to 16
drives.
NOTE: The Cisco Nytro MegaRAID 200 GB PCIe RAID controller can only
be used with the 24-drive backplane version of the server.
NOTE: Use the steps on the following pages to configure the server with
the components that you want to include.
