IN BRIEF Armrest Can be lifted up and removed: tilt to 45°, press the button located between the armrest and the side of the backrest, and pull out. Driver's seat height Use the control to adjust to the required position. Reach Lift the control bar and adjust to the desired position. Backrest angle Use the control to adjust the backrest angle. Heated seats.
COLUMN ADJUSTMENT 17 Unlock the steering wheel by pushing the control forwards. Adjust the steering wheel then lock by pulling the control downwards and towards you. The height of the steering wheel can be adjusted to suit the driver. With the vehicle at rest first adjust the seat to the most suitable position (see “Driving position”). As a matter of safety, these actions should not be attempted when the vehicle is moving.
I 18 WINDOWS IN BRIEF A Electric operation From the driver’s position, the switches on the centre console allow the front windows of the vehicle to be opened and closed. Driver's window Sequential control One touch on A makes the window close or open fully, a second touch stops the movement. A long press causes a window movement which stops as soon as you release. Anti-pinch on the driver’s window An anti- pinch device stops the window from rising if it meets an obstacle, and reverses the direction.
WINDOWS 19 I IN BRIEF Rear electric control The electric rear windows can be actioned using the switches located on the dashboard and those on the vehicle’s rear doors. Child safety precaution One switch can deactivate the rear window controls. Always remove the ignition key when leaving the vehicle, even for short periods.

I 24 C R U I S E C O N T R O L - ON/OFF This driving assistance device enables you to drive at a constant speed of your choice, only in the highest gears and above a minimum speed of 40 to 60 km/h (25 to 40 mph) depending on engine versions. IN BRIEF The cruise control operates only with: - Gear lever in fourth or fifth gear (manual gearbox). - Selector on D (automatic gearbox). The cruise control stalk A is located below the direction indicator/lighting switch.
C R U I S E C O N T R O L - ON/OFF Recalling the memorised speed After a disengagement, press once on button 3. Your vehicle will return to the last speed memorised. 4 3 2 To increase the memorised speed By a long press on the rear of button 4 of control A until you reach the desired speed. Release the button, the new speed is then memorised. To decrease the memorised speed Give a long press on the rear on button 2 of control A until the desired speed is obtained (above 25mph).
I CRUISE CONTROL /«CRUISE» 26 This driving assistance function allows you to drive at the speed of your choIce without the need to action the accelerator. It is available at speeds above 40 km/h (25 mph), in the higher gears only. Control A for cruise control is located below the lighting/signalling control stalk. Note: Information relating to the cruise control is displayed in zone B on the display. IN BRIEF B To select the function Turn control 1 to the « CRUISE » position.
CRUISE CONTROL /«CRUISE» Temporary override of the cruise speed Reactivation of cruise control While cruise control is in use, it is still possible to go above the cruise speed simply by pressing the accelerator pedal (for example to overtake another vehicle). The speed displayed on the screen flashes. You have only to release the accelerator pedal to return to your cruise speed.
I SPEED LIMITER / 28 «LIMIT» This driving assistance function allows you to choose a maximum speed that you wish not to exceed. This has to be a speed greater than 30 km/h (approx. 20 mph). Control A for the speed limiter is located below the lighting/signalling control stalk. Note: The information relating to the speed limiter is shown in zone B on the screen. To select the function Turn control 1 to the position « LIMIT ».
SPEED LIMITER / «LIMIT» 29 I To deactivate the maximum speed Press button 3 at the end of the control A. This action brings up the information « OFF » on the screen. This action does not cancel the memorised speed which remains displayed in zone B. It is possible at any time to drive at above the memorised maximum speed by pressing the pedal hard down to go beyond the tight spot. All the time the speed is being exceeded, the displayed speed flashes.
I 30 REAR VIEW MIRRORS IN BRIEF Electrically - controlled door mirrors Your vehicle is equipped with electric door mirrors. Set the position for the selected door mirror: - 1 Left hand door mirror - 2 Right hand door mirror Move the control in the four directions to set the position. 1 2 Interior rear view mirror The lever on the lower edge enables you to place the rear view mirror in either of two positions: 1 - Day position: the lever is not visible.
II Remote A B Note For safety reasons, a buzzer will sound if you have switched off the ignition and opened the driver’s door without previously removing the ignition key. control 31 Central locking The remote control locks and unlocks the doors and tailgate. Press once on button A to lock or button B to unlock. If it does not work first time, then try again. These operations are confirmed by the direction indicators: - Unlocking: Rapid flashing of direction indicators, interior lamp comes on.
II 32 Remote control Remote control battery used up Accompanied by an audible signal, this information is provided by a message on the multifunction screen. Remote control The remote control transmitter emits a high frequency signal which offers the following advantages: - does not require aiming at the receiver in the vehicle. - can be operated from behind the vehicle and penetrates any load on board. - has a range of several metres.
II Keys 33 Electronic immobiliser key The key operates all the vehicle’s locks as well as the ignition. Central locking using the key The key can be used in the driver’s door to activate the locking and unlocking of the doors and tailgate. The central locking will not operate if a door is open, or not properly closed. Note: Locking causes the interior lamps to go out, and a diode in the hazard warning lamp button to flash. If the diode fails to flash after about ten seconds, consult your CITROËN Dealer.
II 34 CODE card In the event of a change of vehicle ownership, it is essential for the new owner to possess the CODE card. Never leave it in the vehicle. CODE card A confidential card is given to the new owner when he takes delivery of his new vehicle. This card bears a hidden access code for the use of the CITROËN dealer when maintaining the electronic immobiliser device. Do not scratch the protective strip, the security of the immobiliser system depends on the information below remaining covered.
II S T E E R I N G L O C K – I G N I T I O N - S TA R T E R 35 • S : Steering lock To unlock the steering, move the steering wheel slightly while turning the key. Do not use undue force. After you remove the key, turn your steering wheel until it locks. The key can only be removed in position S. • A : Accessories This allows use of certain electrical accessories. The battery charge warning lamp lights up.
II 36 Starting Ensure that the gear lever is in neutral (manual gearbox) or in position P or N (automatic gearbox). PETROL Starting the engine - Do not depress the accelerator pedal. - Operate the starter motor (maximum 10 seconds) until the engine starts. - At temperatures below 0°C, depress the clutch pedal to ease starting, then release it slowly. Release the key as soon as the engine starts.

II 46 Trip computer Distance travelled It indicates the distance travelled since the trip computer was last reset to zero. Average fuel consumption The average fuel consumption is calculated from the last reset of the computer. Instantaneous fuel consumption The fuel consumption of the last 2 second period is displayed. This function is only available at speeds above 20 km/h (approx. 13 mph).
II Trip computer 47 Overspeed alert Function for monitoring the maximum desired speed (see “message display”). If the programmed speed is exceeded, you see the message “PROG SPEED ***MPH” accompanied by an audible signal. • If the display reads “OVERSPEED WARNING INACTIVE”, a short press on the end of the control will return you to the main screen, otherwise a long press on the end of the control will activate the function and the display will read “OVERSPEED WARNING ACTIVE”.
II 48 Maintenance indicator The maintenance indicator informs you when the next service is due, in conformity with the servicing programme detailed in the vehicle's Maintenance Guide. This information is determined as a function of two parameters: the mileage travelled and the time elapsed since the previous service.
II Manual gearbox Reverse gear Do not select reverse gear until the vehicle is completely stationary. Depress the clutch pedal and wait a few moments before gently engaging reverse gear.
II 50 Automatic gearbox Automatic gear selector lever - Park (Position P) - Reverse gear (Position R) - Neutral (Position N) - The automatic gearbox offers you: - Operation in auto- active mode, with automatic adaptation to your style of driving. (Position D). - Operation in sequential mode, with manual gear changing, (pushing the selector towards + or –).
II Automatic gearbox 51 The engine can only be started when the lever is at position P or N. A safety device ensures that starting is impossible in the other positions. After starting the engine, with selector on P, depress the brake pedal to quit this position, - shift the selector to D, R or M, - D for automatic, - R for reverse, - M for manual operation. A shift from D (automatic) to M (manual) is possible at any time.
II 52 Automatic gearbox Reverse gear Engage only when stationary and with the footbrake firmly applied. To avoid any transmission snatch or harshness, wait several seconds before pressing the accelerator. Neutral Do not select this position, even momentarily, when the vehicle is in motion. Drive: Position for normal use. The four forward gears are selected automatically. For maximum acceleration (overtaking, for example) press the accelerator pedal fully down to make the gearbox change to a lower gear.
II Automatic gearbox 53 Operation in sequential mode Manual changing of the four gears: - Selector on M, - push the selector towards the “+” sign to engage a higher gear, - pull the selector towards the “–” to engage a lower gear. A shift from D (automatic mode) to M (sequential mode) is possible at any time. Operation in auto- active automatic mode Selector on D. The gearbox always selects the gear best adapted to the following parameters: - style of driving, - route profile, - vehicle load.
II 54 Automatic gearbox Operation in Sport automatic mode Select the driving mode: - Normal, for driving in normal conditions, the display should not be showing. - Sport, this position permits a more dynamic driving style favouring performance and acceleration. • With the lever on D, press on the button, the warning lamp lights up, you are in “SPORT” mode. • Press again on the button, the warning lamp “NORMAL” mode.
II Brakes 55 Handbrake The parking brake is applied, with the vehicle stationary, by pulling on the lever with a force that is proportionate to the steepness of the slope. In all circumstances, as a precautionary measure, engage first gear. For vehicles equipped with an automatic gearbox, ensure that the parking position (P) is selected. On steep slopes, turn the steering towards the kerb.
II 56 ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAMME Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Traction Control (ASR) These systems are closely connected to the ABS and additional to it. In the event of a loss of control of the vehicle by the driver, the ESP system acts automatically on one or more brakes and also on the engine to bring the vehicle back on trajectory. The ASR system optimises traction and prevents wheel spin by acting on the brakes of the driving wheels.
II Diesel particle filter 57 Complementary to the catalytic converter, this filter makes an active contribution to the preservation of air quality by the retaining of the unburnt pollutant particles. Black exhaust fumes are thus no longer emitted. Clogging of the particle filter If there is a risk of clogging, a message appears on the multifunction screen, accompanied by a sound signal.
II 58 Parking assistance Parking assistance When reversing the vehicle, proximity sensors located in the rear bumper will inform you, by means of a modulated audible signal, of the presence of any obstacle within the detection zone behind the vehicle.
III ACCESS Opening from the outside To unlock the door from the outside, either insert the key fully in the lock and turn it or unlock using the remote control. Note: the doors have three opening positions. Opening from the inside Pull the lever towards you. 59 Child safety on rear doors This prevents the rear doors from being opened from the inside. This device operates independently of the main locking system. Insert the end of the key, or similar object, into the red aperture and turn to operate.
III 60 III ACCESS Interior Locking/Unlocking With the doors closed, press button A once to operate the electric central locking and unlocking. The doors can still be opened from inside. A A ANTI-THEFT AND ANTI- INTRUSION SECURITY The doors and tailgate can lock automatically as soon as the vehicle reaches a speed of 10 km/h (approx. 6 mph). Note: With the ignition switched on, the warning lamp indicating that the doors and tailgate have been locked illuminates in the instrument panel display.
III 61 ACCESS B A Tailgate To open Release the catch by lifting lever A located between the number plate lamps. The tailgate can be opened to two positions. The first position allows it to be opened in an area with limited headroom, e.g. an enclosed car park. Closing the tailgate To close, pull down the tailgate using either of the handholds in the interior trim. Removing your fingers, push down firmly to shut.
III ACCESS Opening from the outside To unlock the door from the outside, either insert the key fully in the lock and turn it or unlock using the remote control. Note: the doors have three opening positions. Opening from the inside Pull the lever towards you. 59 Child safety on rear doors This prevents the rear doors from being opened from the inside. III V E N T I L AT I O N - H E AT I N G MANUAL AIR CONDITIONING Entry of air Make sure that the exterior air inlet grille and manifold at the base of the windscreen is clean and free of dead leaves, snow, etc.. If you wash the vehicle using a high pressure jet, avoid targeting anywhere near the air inlet. Air vents The face-level air vents have controls for adjusting the air flow and grilles for orienting the direction.
III A U T O M AT I C T E M P E R AT U R E R E G U L AT I O N 64 6 5 3 7 4 2 8 1 10 9 - When you are entering the vehicle after a fairly prolonged stop and the temperature inside the cabin is far colder (or far hotter) than would be comfortable, it is no use altering the displayed temperature to try to restore the desired comfort level more rapidly. The system automatically strives to compensate this temperature discrepancy as rapidly as possible.
A U T O M AT I C T E M P E R AT U R E R E G U L AT I O N III 65 6- Air distributor 3 - Display 4 - Air conditioning Warning lamp « A/C » or « AUTO » is illuminated. If you press on the button, you see « ECO » displayed, the air conditioning is stopped, « A/C » or « AUTO » disappears. To prevent misting inside the vehicle in either cold or humid weather, you are advised to use AUTO mode and to avoid ECO mode.

III REAR SEATS A Sliding rear seats Fore and aft adjustment Lift the control bar and adjust to the desired position. Tray/armrest function Pull the lever A to fold the backrest onto the seat cushion. 67 A Putting the backrest back into place If necessary, unlock it by pulling the control A. When putting the backrest back into place, ensure that it locks securely. Avoid using the shelf for heavy or hard items.
III REAR 68 III SEATS A A Backrest angle Use the control A to adjust the backrest angle. Tilting the backrest Pull the lever A to fold the backrest onto the seat cushion. Folding the seat With the backrest folded onto the seat cushion, lift the bar located behind the seat to release the rear securing points and tilt the seat assembly forwards until it locks in place. Note: The rear seats can only be folded if they are slid as far as possible rearwards.
III REAR Repositioning the seat Push the red lever. Tilt the seat back to fasten the rear securing points. Raise the backrest while pulling the lever. Check that the seat assembly is securely locked in place. SEATS Removing the seat Remove the head restraint. With the backrest folded onto the seat cushion, push it fully to lock it in this position. Lift the bar located behind the seat to release the rear securing points 69 Tilt the seat assembly, at an angle of 45°, forwards.
III 70 REAR Holding the seat by the sides of the cushion, and with it tilted at an angle of 45°, locate the hooks opposite the front securing points. Tilt the seat back to fasten the rear securing points. Refitting the seat Ensure that each seat is located in the right position. III SEATS A Raise the backrest while pulling the lever A. Check that the seat assembly is securely locked in place. When refitting the seat, ensure that the seat belt straps are in their correct position.
III Seat configuration 71 To improve the seat configuration in the vehicle, the rear seats are modular and can be moved individually. (See “Rear seats”): - The rear seats are on slides. - The backrests can be folded down onto the seat cushions. 4 places With the backrest of the centre seat folded down to form an armrest and tray for the side seats. 5 places With the centre seat in a forward position.

Side seat Pass the seat belt through the guide located above the backrest. Lock the buckle into its clasp. Stowing the buckle Fix it to the hook located on the rear side pillar trim.
III 74 The front passenger’s airbag can be deactivated Note: The use of the seat belt is obligatory. Never deactivate the passenger’s airbag when a passenger is present (except when a rear-facing child seat is fitted). III Airbags Passenger’s airbag deactivation To be able to use a rear-facing child seat in the front passenger’s seat position, it is essential to deactivate the passenger’s airbag. To do so, with the ignition switched off: - Insert the ignition key into the control switch A.
III CHILD RESTRAINTS 75 POSSIBILITY TO INSTALL CHILD SEATS SECURED BY MEANS OF THE SEAT BELT In compliance with European Directive 2000/3, the following table tells you to what extent each of the seats in your vehicle may be fitted with a chld seat secured by means of the seat belt and having “Universal” approval for one or more weight groups.
III 76 CHILD RESTRAINTS ISOFIX CHILD SEATS ISOFIX anchoring points and the ISOFIX fastening system The lateral rear seats of your vehicle are each equipped with ISOFIX anchoring points: 2 rings located approx. 28 cm apart between the seat cushion and the backrest. ISOFIX child seats have 2 latches which are easy to anchor on these rings. This fastening system is designed for children weighing up to 22kg.

Ventilated glovebox This has a ventilation duct which can be opened or closed manually. It uses the same conditioned air as the air vents.

Dashboard storage Note : The wheelbrace is clipped on the inside of the flap for the storage compartment in the false floor behind the front right hand seat. Note : For safety, if any force is exerted the tray is designed to detach itself. To reposition it, with the tray vertical, engage one side then the other, forcing slightly.
III REAR PARCEL SHELF 83 1 2 B To remove, release the straps, then lift each side. It can be stored vertically against the backrest of the rear seats To attach the shelf and tailgate, take the cords and fix them at B. To refit, slide the shelf horizontally until it comes into contact with the rear seat 1, then clip in place by pressing down on the front corners 2 as shown in the illustration. Avoid using the rear shelf for heavy or hard items.

III Sun roof 87 An anti-pinch device stops the sun roof from sliding shut if it meets an obstacle, in which case it reopens. After a disconnection of the battery or in the event of a malfunction, you have to re-initialise the antipinch function. To do this: place the control in the fully open or maximum tilt position, then press the control, and keep it pressed for at least 1 second after the fully open position has been reached. Warning: During this operation, the anti-pinch device does not function.
IV Opening the bonnet 89 A A Bonnet release lever Pull the release lever situated below the dashboard to unlock the bonnet. Action latch A, located under the centre forward edge of the bonnet, and pull the bonnet up. Position the bonnet stay as shown in the illustration. There are two possible positions. Engine coolant The fluid level must be situated within the MAX and MIN marks visible on the reservoir. If the engine is hot, wait 15 minutes. Engine oil Check the oil level with the vehicle parked on level ground, after the engine has been switched off for at least fifteen minutes. Quality: See “Maintenance Guide”. Take out the oil dipstick.

IV 96 LEVELS Topping up the cooling system The coolant level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the header tank. Top up the level. If you have to add more than 1 litre, you should have the cooling system checked by CITROËN. Make sure that the cap is on correctly. Note: The necessity to top up frequently would indicate a malfunction that should be checked at the earliest opportunity. Renewal of coolant fluid should be carried out only by a CITROËN Dealer. Quality: See “Maintenance Guide”.
IV LEVELS 97 Brake fluid reservoir Check and top up at regular intervals. The fluid level must be situated within the MAX and MIN marks visible on the reservoir. If the warning lamp lights, stop immediately and contact the nearest CITROËN dealer. Windscreen and rear screen washer fluid For best results as well as for your safety, use only CITROËN approved products which protect at temperatures as low as –25°C to –30°C.
IV 98 DIESEL INJECTION EQUIPMENT Priming the fuel system HDi ENGINE: In the event of running out of fuel: After adding fuel, turn the ignition key to position M, then operate the starter motor until the engine starts. Injection pump Do not remove the seals on the pump setting screws under any circumstances. Alteration of the settings might lead to early engine failure and loss of warranty cover. Draining water from the fuel filter Bleed regularly (each time the engine is drained).

It may be necessary to re-enter the radio code. The two vehicles should not be touching one another. Lift the isolating protection on the + terminal.

The fuses positions which are not numbered are for spare fuses. Replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating (the same colour).

V CHANGING Tools The wheelbrace is clipped into the cover of the stowage area located under the floor behind one of the front seats. The jack and its handle are located in a protective holder in the spare wheel under the boot floor. Pull it upwards to release. The anti- theft wheel bolt sockets are stowed in the glovebox. Access to the spare wheel The wheel carrier retaining bolt is situated under the boot carpet near the tailgate catch. Unscrew the retaining bolt using the end of the wheel brace.
V 118 CHANGING Wheels with aluminium rims Remove the embellisher concealing the four wheel bolts, using the curved end of tool 2 contained in the protection box to be found inside the spare wheel. Anti- theft bolts Each wheel has one anti-theft bolt. To remove this bolt, use one of the two anti-theft sockets (given to you at the time of delivery of your vehicle along with duplicate keys and confidential card) and the wheelbrace.
V CHANGING A WHEEL 119 Replacing the spare wheel in the carrier Replace the jack and its handle in the protective holder in the spare wheel and slide them into the carrier. Lift the carrier up to the safety catch. Retighten the bolt from inside the boot. Return the wheelbrace to the stowage area. Advice The wheel bolts are specific to the type of wheel fitted (alloy or steel). If the type of wheel is changed, check with your CITROËN dealer that the wheel bolts are compatible.
V 120 TOWING - LIFTING Towing with all wheels on the ground Rings, concealed by covers, are positioned at the front and at the rear of the vehicle. The ignition key should be in position “A” to maintain steering. Use a bar that can be attached to the rings. Advice: In exceptional circumstances, it is permitted to tow the vehicle at low speed over a short distance (in accordance with the local legislation in force). 14 GENERAL FUNCTIONS ON/OFF To turn the audio system on or off, press the button (A) once the key has been turned to the ACCESSORIES or IGNITION position. Note: - If the audio system had not been turned off when the ignition was last switched off, it will come on automatically when the ignition is switched on again, without button (A) needing to be pressed. - The audio system can also be turned on, without using the ignition key, just by pressing button (A).
ADJUSTING THE AUDIO SYSTEM 15 VOLUME CONTROL Turn button (A) to increase or decrease the volume. The display reads “VOLUME” followed by the volume level selected. The volume can also be adjusted using buttons (4) and (6) on the control at the steering wheel (P). Note : - The volume level selected before the system was turned off will be the one that is automatically selected when the system is turned on again. - The volume is automatically adjusted according to the vehicle speed.
16 RADIO MODE RADIO RECEPTION Your audio system will be subject to certain phenomena that are not encountered by domestic systems. The reception of AM and FM signals is subject to interference which is caused by the nature and propagation of the signals, and is not a fault of your audio system. In AM mode, the reception may be affected when passing under power lines or bridges, or when travelling through tunnels.
RADIO MODE 17 MANUAL PRE-SETTING Select the waveband and memory bank required using button (C). Select a station using either the automatic or manual search modes. Press and hold down one of buttons “1” to “6” (O) for more than two seconds. The sound momentarily cuts off, then returns to its previous level to confirm that it has memorised the station. The audio system can memorise: - 18 FM radio stations on 3 memory banks (FM1, FM2, FM3), - 6 AM radio stations on 1 memory bank.
18 RDS SYSTEM USING THE RDS (RADIO DATA SYSTEM) FUNCTION ON FM WHAT IS THE RDS SYSTEM? The RDS system provides access to various functions described in this chapter, the main one of which allows you to keep listening to the same radio station by automatically selecting the frequency on which the best reception can be obtained according to the area in which you are travelling. SCANNING FOR RDS TRANSMISSIONS The system searches for and retains the best possible reception for a selected radio station.
RDS SYSTEM 19 TRAFFIC INFORMATION Your system allows you to receive traffic information broadcasts even while listening to another audio source. Press the “TA” button (K). While a traffic information message is being broadcast : - The radio or CD makes a pause. Once the message has been broadcast, the system will revert to its original mode.

CD MODE* 21 SELECTING CD MODE After inserting a CD, with the printed side facing upwards, the player will start playing the CD automatically. To manually select CD mode (CD already inserted), press button (D). The CD Mode can also be selected by pressing button (5) on the control at the steering wheel (P). EJECTING A CD Press button (B) to eject the CD, the audio system will automatically switch to radio mode.

To get the best out of it, follow the recommendations described below : • Always use good quality cassettes. Poor quality cassettes may have a detrimental effect on the system operation and sound reproduction. • Only use C60 or C90 cassettes.

24 GENERAL FUNCTIONS ON/OFF To turn the audio system on or off, press the button (A) once the key has been turned to the ACCESSORIES or IGNITION position. Note : - If the audio system had not been turned off when the ignition was last switched off, it will come on automatically when the ignition is switched on again, without button (A) needing to be pressed. - The audio system can also be turned on, without using the ignition key, just by pressing button (A).
ADJUSTING THE AUDIO SYSTEM 25 VOLUME CONTROL Turn button (A) to increase or decrease the volume. The display reads “VOLUME” followed by the volume level selected. The volume can also be adjusted using buttons (4) and (6) on the control at the steering wheel (P). Note : - The volume level selected before the system was turned off will be the one that is automatically selected when the system is turned on again. - The volume is automatically adjusted according to the vehicle speed.
26 RADIO MODE RADIO RECEPTION Your audio system will be subject to certain phenomena that are not encountered by domestic systems. The reception of AM and FM signals is subject to interference which is caused by the nature and propagation of the signals, and is not a fault of your audio system. In AM mode, the reception may be affected when passing under power lines or bridges, or when travelling through tunnels.
RADIO MODE 27 MANUAL PRE-SETTING Select the waveband and memory bank required using button (D). Select a station using either the automatic or manual search modes. Press and hold down one of buttons “1” to “6” (O) for more than two seconds. The sound momentarily cuts off, then returns to its previous level to confirm that it has memorised the station. The audio system can memorise: - 18 FM radio stations on 3 memory banks (FM1, FM2, FM3), - 6 AM radio stations on 1 memory bank.
28 RDS SYSTEM USING THE RDS (RADIO DATA SYSTEM) FUNCTION ON FM WHAT IS THE RDS SYSTEM? The RDS system provides access to various functions described in this chapter, the main one of which allows you to keep listening to the same radio station by automatically selecting the frequency on which the best reception can be obtained according to the area in which you are travelling. SCANNING FOR RDS TRANSMISSIONS The system searches for and retains the best possible reception for a selected radio station.
RDS SYSTEM 29 TRAFFIC INFORMATION Your system allows you to receive traffic information broadcasts even while listening to another audio source. Press the “TA” button (C). While a traffic information message is being broadcast : - The radio or cassette makes a pause. Once the message has been broadcast, the system will revert to its original mode.
30 CASSETTE MODE SELECTING CASSETTE MODE Playback starts automatically upon insertion of a cassette. To manually select the cassette mode (if a cassette is already inserted in the player), press button (I). These operations can also be performed using button (5) on the control at the steering wheel (P). EJECTING THE CASSETTE Press buttons (J) and (K) down fully and at the same time to eject the cassette. The audio system will automatically switch to radio mode.
