Gearefciencyindicator
Systemwhichreducesfuelconsumptionbyadvisingthedrivertochangeup,onvehiclesfittedwithamanualgearbox.
Thesystemadaptsitsgearchange
recommendationaccordingtothe
drivingconditions(slope,load,...)and
thedemandsofthedriver(power,
acceleration,braking,...).
Thesystemneversuggests:
- engagingfirstgear,
- engagingreversegear,
- engagingalowergear.
Example:
- Youareinthirdgear.
Dependingonthedrivingsituationandyour
vehicle'sequipment,thesystemmayadvise
youtoskipone(ormore)gear(s).Youcan
followthisinstructionwithoutengagingthe
intermediategears.
- Youpresstheacceleratorpedal.
- Thesystemmaysuggestthatyouengage
ahighergear.
Theinformationappearsintheinstrument
panelintheformofanarrow,accompaniedby
therecommendedgear.
OncertainDieselversionswithmanual
gearbox,thesystemmaysuggest
changingintoneutral(Nisdisplayedin
theinstrumentpanel)sothattheengine
cangointostandby(STOPmode
withStop&Start),incertaindriving
conditions.
Thegearengagementrecommendationsmust
notbeconsideredcompulsory.Infact,the
configurationoftheroad,theamountoftraffic
andsafetyremaindeterminingfactorswhen
choosingthebestgear.Therefore,thedriver
remainsresponsiblefordecidingwhetherornot
tofollowtheadvicegivenbythesystem.
Thissystemcannotbedeactivated.
