Definitions
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
and electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD)
Thissystemimprovesthestabilityand
manoeuvrabilityofyourvehiclewhenbraking
andcontributestowardsimprovedcontrolin
corners,inparticularonpoororslipperyroad
surfaces.
TheABSpreventswheellockintheeventof
emergencybraking.
Theelectronicbrakeforcedistributionsystem
managesthebrakingpressurewheelbywheel.
Emergency braking assistance
(EBA)
Inanemergency,thissystemenablesyouto
reachtheoptimumbrakingpressuremore
quicklyandthereforereducethestopping
distance.
Itistriggeredaccordingtothespeedatwhich
thebrakepedalispressed.Thisisfeltbya
reductionintheresistanceofthepedalandan
increaseintheeffectivenessofthebraking.
Anti-slip regulation (ASR)
TheASRsystem(alsoknownasTraction
Control)optimisestractioninordertolimit
wheelslipbyactingonthebrakesofthedriving
wheelsandontheengine.Italsoimproves
thedirectionalstabilityofthevehicleon
acceleration.
Dynamic stability control (DSC)
Ifthereisadifferencebetweenthepath
followedbythevehicleandthatrequiredby
thedriver,theDSCmonitorseachwheeland
automaticallyactsonthebrakeofoneormore
wheelsandontheenginetoreturnthevehicle
totherequiredpath,withinthelimitsofthelaws
ofphysics.
