Definitions
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
and electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD)
Thissystemimprovesthestabilityand
manoeuvrabilityofyourvehiclewhenbraking
andcontributestowardsimprovedcontrolin
corners,inparticularonpoororslipperyroad
surfaces.
TheABSpreventswheellockintheeventof
emergencybraking.
Theelectronicbrakeforcedistributionsystem
managesthebrakingpressurewheelbywheel.
Emergency braking assistance
(EBA)
Inanemergency,thissystemenablesyouto
reachtheoptimumbrakingpressuremore
quicklyandthereforereducethestopping
distance.
Itistriggeredaccordingtothespeedatwhich
thebrakepedalispressed.Thisisfeltbya
reductionintheresistanceofthepedalandan
increaseintheeffectivenessofthebraking.
Anti-slip regulation (ASR)
TheASRsystem(alsoknownasTraction
Control)optimisestractioninordertolimit
wheelslipbyactingonthebrakesofthedriving
wheelsandontheengine.Italsoimproves
thedirectionalstabilityofthevehicleon
acceleration.
Dynamic stability control (DSC)
Ifthereisadifferencebetweenthepath
followedbythevehicleandthatrequiredby
thedriver,theDSCmonitorseachwheeland
automaticallyactsonthebrakeofoneormore
wheelsandontheenginetoreturnthevehicle
totherequiredpath,withinthelimitsofthelaws
ofphysics.
