Airbags
General information
Systemdesignedtocontributetowards
improvingthesafetyoftheoccupants(with
theexceptionoftherearcentrepassenger)
intheeventofviolentcollisions.Theairbags
supplementtheactionoftheseatbeltsfitted
withforcelimiters(allexceptthecentrerear
passengerbelt).
Ifacollisionoccurs,theelectronicdetectors
recordandanalysethefrontandsideimpacts
sustainedintheimpactdetectionzones:
- inthecaseofaseriousimpact,theairbags
aredeployedinstantlyandcontribute
towardsbetterprotectionoftheoccupants
ofthevehicle(withtheexceptionofthe
rearcentrepassenger);immediatelyafter
theimpact,theairbagsdeflaterapidlyso
thattheydonothindervisibilityortheexit
of the occupants,
- inthecaseofaminororrearimpactorin
certainroll-overconditions,theairbags
maynotbedeployed;theseatbelt
alonecontributestowardsensuringyour
protectioninthesesituations.
The airbags do not operate when the
ignition is switched off.
Thisequipmentwillonlydeployonce.
Ifasecondimpactoccurs(duringthe
sameorasubsequentaccident),the
airbagwillnotbedeployedagain.
Deploymentofoneormoreofthe
airbagsisaccompaniedbyaslight
emissionofsmokeandanoise,due
to the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridgeincorporatedinthesystem.
Thissmokeisnotharmful,butsensitive
individualsmayexperienceslight
irritation.
Thenoiseofdetonationrelatedtothe
deploymentofoneormoreairbagsmay
resultinaslightlossofhearingfora
shorttime.
