Wheel for temporary use
If your vehicle is equipped with a
spare wheel for temporary use only,
when tting this it is normal to observe
that the wheel bolts do not come to
bear directly on the wheel rim.
The spare wheel is secured by the
conical section of each wheel bolt.
When refi tting the original wheel, en-
sure that the wheel bolts and wash-
ers are clean and in good condition.
Fitting a wheel
Position the wheel with the aid of
the centring guide 3 .
Do up the 3 bolts by hand, then
remove the centring guide 3 .
Position the 4 th bolt.
Pre-tighten the wheel bolts, us-
ing the wheelbrace 4 .
Retract the jack 5 and disengage it.
Tighten the wheel bolts, using
the wheelbrace 4 .
Ensure that the tyre pressure is
correct.
Under-infl ation detection
These wheels have tyre pressure
sensors. It is essential to have re-
pairs carried out by a CITROËN
dealer. The spare wheel does not
have a sensor.
Security bolts (alloy wheels)
Each wheel may be equipped with
one security bolt.
To remove it:
Remove the protector that is cov-
ering it by means of the tool for
removing the chrome covers 2 .
Use the security bolt socket 6
with the wheelbrace 4 .
Dimension of the spare
wheel
If your spare wheel has dimensions
different from those of the normal
vehicle wheels (identifi ed by a la-
bel), you must use the spare wheel
only temporarily, drive with caution,
not exceed 50 mph (80 km/h) and
have the tyre repaired and the nor-
mal wheel refi tted as soon as pos-
sible.
Tyre pressures
These are indicated on the label
on the right-hand front door pillar
(see section "Technical Data - §
Identifi cation markings ").
The wheel bolts are specifi c
to each type of wheel.
If new wheels are tted, check
with your CITROËN dealer that the
wheel bolts are compatible with the
new wheels.
Note: take care to note down the
code number on the head of the
security bolt socket. This will ena-
ble you to obtain a replacement se-
curity bolt socket from a CITROËN
dealership.
