132 Chapter 12 Syncing
Tip If you want to know when you last synced, check the timestamp in the Sync &
Setup screen (Bento for iPhone) or the Sync window (Bento for iPad).
Managing Connected Devices
You can sync your Bento desktop with any two iOS devices. If you have several devices
that you sync with your Bento desktop, Bento can help you keep track of which
devices are currently connected and when they were last synced.
To add a device to the list of currently connected devices:
1 In Bento for Mac, in the Devices section of the Libraries pane, click .
2 At the bottom of the Setup screen, click Add.
If there are two devices already listed, first remove a device by selecting it, then
clicking Remove.
3 Follow the steps in ”Syncing for the First Time” on page 130.
The device is added to the list in the Setup tab. The list also displays the date and
time of the most recent sync for each device.
To remove a device from the list of currently connected devices:
1 In Bento for Mac, in the Devices section of the Libraries pane, click .
2 At the bottom of the Setup screen, select a device, then click Remove.
The selected device is removed from the list in the Setup tab.
Troubleshooting Syncing
This section describes some common issues with syncing information between your
Bento products.
• Can I sync more than one Bento desktop with a device?
No. A device can only sync with one Bento desktop. If you sync a second Bento
desktop with your device, libraries from the first desktop are removed. To prevent
data loss, avoid connecting to additional desktops.
• Can I sync Bento 4 for iPad with my Bento for Mac Address Book library?
Bento 4 for iPad does not sync with the Bento for Mac Address Book library. You
can migrate the Bento for Mac Address Book library to a new Bento Contacts
library, then sync with your iOS device to view the data.
• Can I sync Bento 4 for iPad or Bento for iPhone with my Bento for Mac
iCal libraries?
