Chapter 12 Syncing 133
You can’t sync iCal Events and iCal Tasks libraries with Bento 4 for iPad. You can’t
sync the iCal Events library with Bento for iPhone. You can migrate the Bento for
Mac iCal Tasks library to a new Bento Tasks library and the iCal Events library to a
new Bento Events library, then sync with your iOS device to view the data. See
”Migrating the iCal, iPhoto, and Address Book Libraries” on page 41.
• Why weren’t all of my media files synced?
Media files in Bento for Mac that are larger than 10 megabytes or that cannot be
opened or played on your device cannot be synced. Media files in Bento for iPad
or Bento for iPhone that are larger than 10 megabytes can be synced with Bento
for Mac.
• What if Bento for iPhone or Bento for iPad is interrupted while syncing?
If Bento for iPhone or Bento for iPad is interrupted while syncing (for instance, by a
phone call or power failure), you must restart the sync.
• When I sync, what happens if data in one device conflicts with data in the
other?
If there is a data conflict, data in Bento for iPhone or Bento for iPad overwrites data
in Bento for Mac. For example, you have John Smith’s phone number stored in
both Bento products. You change his phone number to 555-1010 in Bento for Mac
and 555-9090 in Bento for iPhone. When you sync, the phone number on your
device overwrites the phone number on your computer.
