Thefollowingite msareincludedaspartoftheCS‐03Requirements.Thestandardconnectingarrangementfor
theequipmentisCA11A.Thisproduct meetstheapplicableIndustryCanadatechnicalspecificat ions.
NOTE:TheCanadianDepartmentof Communicationslabelidentifiescertifiedequipment.Thiscertification
meansthattheequipmentmeetscertaintelec ommunicationsnetwork
protectiveoperationalandsafety
requirements.TheDepartmentdoesnotguarant ee thattheequipmentwilloperatetothe user’ssatisfaction.
Beforeinstallingthisequipment,usersshouldensurethatitispermissibletobeconnectedtothefacilitiesof
thelocaltelecommunicationscompany.Theequipmentmustalsobeinstalledusinganacceptablemethod
of
connection.Insomecase s,thecompany’sinsidewiringassociatedwithasinglelineindividualserv icemaybe
extendedbymeansofacertifiedconnectorassembly(telephoneextensioncord).Thecustomershouldbe
awarethatcompliancewiththeaboveconditionsmaynotpreventdegradationofser viceinsom esituations.
Repairs
tocertifiedequipmentshouldbemadebyanauthorizedCanadianmaintenancefacilitydesignatedby
thesupplier.Anyrepairsoralterationsmadebytheusertothisequipment,orequipmentmalfunctions,may
givethetelecommunicationscompanycausetorequesttheuserdisconnecttheequipment.
Usersshouldensu refortheirownprotectionthat
theelectricalgroundconnectionsofthepowerutility,
telephonelinesandinternalmetallicwaterpipesystem,ifpresent,areconnectedtogether.
 Thisprecaution
maybeparticularly
 importantinruralareas. 

Warning :Usersshouldnot attem pttomakesuchconnectionsthemselves,butshouldcontactthe
appropriateelectricinspectionauthority,orelectrician,as
 appropriate.TheRingerEquivalentNumberisan
indicationofthemaximumnumberofterminalsallowedtobeconnectedtoatelephoneinterface.The

terminationonaninterfacemayconsistofanycombinationofdevicessubjectonlytothe  requirementthat
thesumoftheRingerEquivalentNumberofallthedevicesnotexc eedfive.




