Safety Vacuum Handbook (L, M, H and ATEX Type 22 dust classes)
Nilfisk-ALTO offers you a handbook if you need to vacuum hazardous material.
Nilfisk-ALTO health and safety vacuum cleaners span all dust classes
- M (medium), H (high), Asbestos and explosive dusts classified as ATEX Type 22,
and even ATEX Zone 2 areas where flammable gases may be present.
The Safety Handbook has been made in co-operation with international
organisations and complies with the worldwide IEC 60335-2-69 regulations.

Dust Class M
These vacuum cleaners permit picking up dusts from dust classes L and
M. These include all health endangering, non-carcinogenic dusts with
OEL values > 1.0 mg/m
3
and hardwood dusts.
Dust Class H
These vacuum cleaners permit picking up dusts from dust classes
L, M and H. These include all health endangering dust with OEL
values, all carcinogenic dusts and dusts with germs and bacteria.
Asbestos
Asbestos dusts are only permitted to be picked up with vacuum cleaners
conforming to dust class H. In Germany they furthermore have to meet
the additional requirements for asbestos.
Type 22
These vacuum cleaners are approved to pick up explosive dusts as
well as dusts from dust classes L and M. These include hardwood
dust, all non-carcinogenic dusts with OEL values > 1.0 mg/m
3
and/or inflammable dusts in ATEX Zone 22 applications.
