Installing NewsQ Pro and Components
The various NewsQ Pro components reside on multiple computers. The
following table indicates where each component is typically installed:
Because you must configure some components with the locations of other
components, you should plan your overall installation before beginning.
To install the NewsQ Pro application and its components:
1. Insert the NewsQ Pro CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Navigate to the CD and double-click
SetupNewsQPro.exe.

NOTE: If you are using an M-Series iVDR as your media
server, you don’t need to install the Thumbnail Server.
Thumbnail Server
NewsQ Pro Server Components:
• XMOS Server
• SDB Server
Housekeeper Utility Recommend installing on the NewsQ Pro computer.
Assignment List Manager
(standalone version)
Non-NCS computers, usually used by Newsroom Producers.
Assignment List Plugin All NCS client computers. See “Installing the Assignment
List Plug-in” on page 80 for specific installation instructions.
Hot Standby Database Server Optional; install on a PC on the same network as the NewsQ
Pro computer.
