Appendix D: Windows Vista IP Setup
If a PC running Microsoft Vistaâ„¢ is being used as the cOS Core management workstation, the
computer's Ethernet interface connected to the Clavister Security Gateway must be configured
with an IPv4 address which belongs to the network 192.168.1.0/24 and is different from the
security gateway's address of 192.168.1.1.
The IPv4 address 192.168.1.30 will be used for this purpose and the steps to set this up with Vista
are as follows:
1. Press the Windows Start button.
2. Select the Control Panel from the start menu.
3. Select Network & Sharing Center from the control panel.
4. Select the Manage network connections option.
5. A list of the Ethernet interface connections will appear. Select the interface that will connect
to the security gateway.
6. The properties for the selected interface will appear.
