5. Filling the water and detergent tanks
Identify the three external tanks located near the multi-purpose basket.
Openthecapandllthewatertankwithnormaltapwater(itholdsabout10litres).
The hardness of the water used must be less than 30 French degrees. If the mains water
supply is particularly hard, we recommend using a mixture of 50% tap water and 50%
demineralised water.

In Canada, the use of a temporary adaptor is not permitted by the Canadian Electrical
Code.
THIS UNIT MUST BE GROUNDED
If the unit should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resi-
stanceofelectrical.Currenttoreducetheriskofelectricalshock.Theunitisequipped
with a cord having an equipment grounding conductor and grounding plug.The plug
must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly grounded in accordance with
all local codes and ordinaces.
Thisapplianceisdesignedforprofessionaluseasasteamgeneratorandasaliquids/
organic materials aspirator in accordance with the descriptions and directions of this
handbook.
Please read these directions carefully and make sure the handbook is available at all
times. These directions may well be useful at any given time.
4. Correct use of the product
Grounding instructions
WARNING!
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-V circuit and has a
grounding attachment plug thet looks like the plug illustrated
insketchAingure20.Makesurethattheapplianceiscon-
nectedtoanoutlethavingthesamecongurationastheplug.
No adaptor should be used with this appliance.
Cleaning the oat
Whencleaningthebinunit,alwayscheckthatthereisnoobstructionoftheoatordirt
intheoathousing.
Ifoatcleaningisrequired,proceedasfollows:
1)Turntheknobunderthelteranti-clockwisetounscrewit.
2)Removethepolyesterlter.
3)Whileimmobilisingthetopofthebin,openthecageofoat(turnitanti-clockwise).
4)Removetheoat.
5)Cleantheoathousing,theoatandtheoatcage.Removealldirt.
• To replace the components and close the unit, proceed as above but in reverse order.
Cleaning the accessories
Followingaspirationofliquidsorsolids,usersarestronglyadvisedtorinsethetubesand
accessories. Empty the bin and aspirate 1-2 litres of clean water, without leaving any of
theaspiratedliquidsinthebin.Thisshallpreventonsetofscaling,mouldandsmells.
