Battery Care & Disposal
Your phone battery is a sealed unit with no serviceable parts
inside; do not attempt to open the case. To ensure the maximum
life from your battery, allow the battery to fully discharge at least
once a week. To fully discharge the battery, leave the phone
turned on until the message
RECHARGE BATTERY
is displayed and the phone shuts itself off. If left unused, a fully
charged battery discharges in approximately one month. Store
batteries uncharged in a cool, dark, and dry place.
DO NOT PLACE USED BATTERIES IN YOUR REGULAR TRASH.
NICKEL CADMIUM (NiCd) BATTERIES MUST BE COLLECTED,
RECYCLED, OR DISPOSED OF IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND
MANNER.
The incinerating, landfilling, or mixing of nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batter-
ies with municipal solid waste stream is PROHIBITED BY LAW in most
states.Return batteries to a federal or state approved nickel-cadmium
(or sealed lead) battery recycler. Possible locations include the location
the battery was purchased or local sellers of automotive batteries. In all
states except Minnesota, call 1-800-822-8837 for further disposal infor-
mation, if necessary. In Minnesota, call 1-800-225-PRBA. Contact local
waste management officials for additional information on the environ-
mentally sound collection, recycling, and disposal of batteries.
