Using the Short Message Service (SMS), you can send and
receive short text messages.
Set up text messaging
Activate messaging
Before you take these steps to activate the Short Message
Service (SMS), you must contact your service provider to obtain
the service center number.
1. Press to select Menu.
2. Press to select Message.
3. Press to highlight Settings, and then select OK.
4. Press to select Service Center.
5. Press the numeric keys to enter the service center number.
You can enter up to 20 digits.
6. Press to select OK.
Done! appears on the display.
Activate or cancel delivery reports
Each time that you send a message, you can receive a status
report regarding whether the message was delivered.
1. Press to select Menu.
2. Press to select Message.
3. Press to highlight Settings, and then select OK.
4. Press to highlight Status Report, and then select OK.
5. Press to highlight On or Off, and then select OK.
Reverse usage charges for reply messages
If you activate this feature, when you reply to messages, your
message usage is charged to the recipient’s service account
instead of yours.
1. Press to select Menu.
2. Press to select Message.
3. Press to highlight Settings, and then select OK.
