OWNER’S MANUAL AMPLIFIED WIRELESS TV LISTENING SYSTEM with Dual Ear Volume Control Model CS2001M 2.
INTRODUCTION CONTENTS Our wireless infrared system allows you to listen to your TV, stereo, radio, or any other audio source at a volume that is comfortable for you without disturbing others in the room. Use it if you are hard of hearing or if you simply want to watch television when someone else is sleeping. Introduction..................................2 Infrared technology is considered to be the best and clearest for sound transmission and our headphones are lightweight for maximum comfort.
HOW IT WORKS The transmitter sits on your audio source (TV/VCR, stereo, etc.) and transmits an audio signal via infrared light. The receiver in the headphones captures the infrared light waves and converts them back into sound. You adjust the volume on the cordless headphones to suit your personal needs. Multiple headphones can be used with one transmitter. COMPONENTS 3.5mm RCA plug Infrared Transmitter AC Adapter Headphone Receiver Large 6.3mm adapter Small 3.
INSTALLATION How you install your CS2001M will depend on what type of equipment you have. It is important to note that because not all TVs are the same, when you plug something into the audio output jack, one of two things will happen. 1. The sound from your television will be automatically cut off and nobody else in the room will be able to hear the TV. This is okay if you don’t want anyone else to be able to hear the television but not if you just want to listen at a higher volume than others in the room.
Stereo and Mono Installation If your television has audio output jacks, plug the transmitter directly into your television using the RCA plug (C). If your TV has dual left and right audio output jacks, insert the plug into the left (white) audio output jack. Diagram 2 D A Audio Out C SMALL HEADPHONE JACK INSTALLATION To connect to a radio or MP3 player with a small 3.5mm headphone jack, use adapter F. Connect plug C into adapter F and insert it into the headphone jack on your audio device.
Large Headphone Jack Installation If your audio device has a large 6.3mm headphone jack, use adapter E. Connect plug C into adapter E and insert it into the large headphone jack on your audio device. Diagram 4 D Large Headphone Jack A C E VCR Installation Follow these instructions when you have cable passing through your VCR and no other audio output jacks are available. The VCR must be on before beginning this installation. Plug the transmitter into the audio output jack on your VCR using plug C.
Microphone Installation Follow these instructions when your equipment does not have any audio output jacks. Connect plug C into the microphone adapter (G). Affix the microphone directly over the speaker of your television by peeling the tape off the back of the adhesive. For this installation, you will have to keep your television at a very low volume.
PLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMITTER Turn on the infrared transmitter. Four red lights on the front of the transmitter will illuminate. The infrared light rays are emitted in a conical shape. For best results, place your transmitter above your TV. The transmitter will work best if it is within 33 feet (10 meters) from the headphone receiver. There should not be anything obstructing the transmission of the infrared light rays to the receiver.
MUTING THE TELEVISION SOUND Many televisions have speaker switches located on the back panel. If your television has one and you want to keep the sound muted, move this switch to the OFF position and listen to your TV exclusively through the headphones. Some televisions have speaker switches that can only be controlled by the remote control. If your televisions falls into this category, press Menu on the TV remote and locate SPEAKER on the screen menu.
TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE Red power light is not on - AC adapter is not plugged into electrical outlet - AC adapter is not plugged into transmitter No sound from headphones - Self-testing of system - Hook up the microphone to the transmitter and speak into the microphone. You should hear your voice in the headphones and you will confirm the unit is working.
