When should you use this kind of reset?
When the Clempad keeps crashing and/or you can’t access the Clempad system.
When Clempad starts up but the screen remains completely black.
When Clempad starts up but freezes on the boot screen.
When you have reset the Clempad system but the problems encountered when using the device persist.
How do you run this reset?
1. Make sure the tablet is switched o.
2. Press and hold down the VOLUME + key and then insert the power cable that should
already be plugged into a power supply socket.
FACTORY RESET
RESETTING WITH A KEY COMBINATION
Resetting the Clempad to its original factory settings means returning the device and its software to how they were
before the device was switched on for the rst time, and there are two ways of doing it: resetting with a key combination
(hardware) or resetting from Clempad Settings (software).
CAUTION: These operations will delete all your data! So before performing a reset, make a backup copy of all
your data (pictures, music, apps, etc.) as they will be deleted forever!
3. Wait for about 10 seconds until the Android
robot with a red triangle appears.
4. Release the VOLUME + key.
5. Press the physical Back button.
6. 7 options are available. To scroll the options from top down, use the
VOLUME + and VOLUME – keys. To conrm the option selected, press the
power button.
1. Reboot system now: select this to restart the system without making any
changes or to exit the current screenpage without resetting.
2. Apply update from external storage: this updates the operating system from
a micro SD card.
3. Update rkimage from external storage: this installs an operating system
from a micro SD card.
4. Apply update from cache: this applies an update directly from the cache (NOT RECOMMENDED).
5. Wipe data/factory reset: this resets the system completely to the original factory settings: it deletes all your data, settings,
proles, pictures and apps. (RECOMMENDED)
6. Wipe cache partition: : this resets the system partially to the original factory settings: it deletes all your settings, pictures,
registered proles (etc.), but keeps any apps you have installed (RECOMMENDED).
7. Recovery system from backup: this resets the system from a backup created previously – the success of this operation
cannot be guaranteed (NOT RECOMMENDED).
CAUTION! Apart from the Reboot system now option, all the others involve losing all or part of your data. So
before resetting the system, make a backup copy .
CAUTION: during this operation we suggest you leave the Clempad connected to the power cable. If the battery runs out
during the reset procedure, it will be impossible to reset the Clempad and start it up again!
