Connecting Other Devices to Panel
Compatible keypad (KPT-35-Combo) and expansion module model (WEZC-8) can both be
wired to the panel at the same time.
For Keypads:
Panel/Keypad Connection:
Connect the Control Panel’s “GND” to the “G” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Connect the Control Panel’s “485A” to the “A” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Connect the Control Panel’s “485B” to the “B” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Connect the Control Panel’s “VDD” to the “V” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Daisy Chain Connection Between Keypads:
Connect the keypad’s “A” to the “A” terminal on the other keypad
Connect the keypad’s “B” to the “B” terminal on the other keypad.
Connect the keypad’s “G” to the “G” terminal on the other keypad.
Connect the keypad’s “V” to the “V” terminal on the other keypad.
For Expansion Boards:
Expansion Board Connection:
Connect the four terminals labeled as VDD, GND, 485A, 485B of the module to the
corresponding terminals on the hybrid panel.
Daisy Chain Connection Between Expansion Board:
The daisy chain connection method is the same for daisy chain connection when adding
more expansion modules.
Connection between Keypad and Expansion Board:
Connect the WEZC-8’s “GND” to the “G” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Connect the WEZC-8’s “485A” to the “A” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Connect the WEZC-8’s “485B” to the “B” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Connect the WEZC-8’s “VDD” to the “V” terminal on the KPT-35-COMBO.
Wiring Example
KPT-35-COMBO is wired correctly as it is within 500’ / 152m of the panel, in wire distance.
WEZC-8 (A) is wired correctly as it is within 800’ / 244m of the panel, in wire distance.
Since it has the furthest distance from the Control Panel, ensure its jumper switch is set to
ON to serve as a terminating resistor before tightening the cover fixing screw.
WEZC-8 (B) is NOT wired correctly as it is farther than 1300’ / 396m from the panel, which
makes it exceed the total length of wiring of 1000 feet.
Ensure the furthest keypad or expansion module’s Jumper Switch and Control Panel’s J53
Jumper Switch are set to ON to serve as a terminating resistor.
