This safety barrier conforms to EN 1930:2011 when fitted according to these instructions between

two clean, structurally sound surfaces.

This safety barrier is designed for children up to 24 months.

This safety barrier is for domestic use only.

Manual closure system.

Suitable for fixing across door openings and at the top and bottom of stairways.

Make sure that you use the appropriate type of fixings depending on the surface available;

wood screws for wooden surfaces, multiple usage dowels and concrete screws for concrete surfaces,

multiple usage dowels and cement screws for cement surfaces and metal screws for metal surfaces.

If the gate has been exposed to an accident, it must not be used again.

Do not allow older children to climb over this gate as this may pose a danger.

WARNING - INCORRECT FITTING OR POSITIONING OF THIS SAFETY BARRIER CAN BE DANGEROUS The gate must be fitted in a structurally solid opening, free of dirt and grease. The position of the safety barrier in relation to the stairs may have an adverse affect on your child’s safety: - If the barrier is used at the top of the stairs to prevent your child from falling down the stairs, it must not be placed on any stair below the level of the top stair.

Installation Instructions For Pressure Fitting This gate is suitable for openings between 69.5cm (27½in.) and 106.5cm (42in.) wide. 1. Measure the width of the opening you wish to place the gate in. X X1 = 69.5 76.5 cm A + 1 G+ 7 X2 = 76.5 84.5 cm B + 1 G + 6 X3 = 84.5 91.5 cm C + 1 G + 5 X4 = 91.5 98.5 cm D + 1 G + 4 X5 = 98.5 106.5 cm E + 1 G + 3 2. Adjust the two gate sections to one of the five positions shown, according to the size of the opening you intend to fit the gate in.

3. Insert the 4 spindles ‘D’ and nuts ‘E’ into the holes provided on the four corners of the gate. Make sure that the spindles are inserted the same distance into the gate on each side. 2 E 2 D E D 4. Attach the pedal ‘F’ to the centre of the gate using the two screws ‘G’ provided. Use the correct holes, depending on the width of the opening, as in Step 1. 1 F 2 G X1 X3 X5 X4 X2 5. The surfaces which the gate rests on should be completely flat and should be a minimum of 5cm wide.

Fix the wall-cups ‘C’ to the wall using appropriate fixings depending on the wall surface: Wood screws for wooden surfaces, appropriate wall plugs and screws for concrete / brick / plaster walls, or metal screws for metal surfaces. These screws are not provided. Use Size 6 (3.5mm diameter) flat head counter sunk screws of minimum length 25mm. Repeat Step 5 on the opposite wall surface. 6. Place the gate into the opening, making sure that the pedal touches the floor.

Apply downward pressure to the gate from the middle of the top bar. Ensure that when closed, the distance between the gate and the wall on both sides is not less than 21mm and not greater than 63mm. IMPORTANT ! Make sure that when the gate is closed, the pressure indicators on the top of the gate are displaying a green window and the pedal underneath the gate can move freely. If the pedal cannot move freely, turn the spindles on one side another full turn counter-clockwise.

9. To open the gate, press and hold the foot pedal with your foot (1). Holding the gate in the middle of the top bar, push down (2) and finally lift the gate to remove it from the opening (3). 2 3 1 10. Ensure that the gate and the pedal are level and in the centre of the gap when installed and closed. Adjust the spindles at each corner to ensure that the gate is level with the ground. Please make sure that the barrier is properly closed after each use.

3. Insert the 2 hinge bars ‘I’ with 2 nuts ‘E’ into the holes provided on one side of the gate. Then insert 2 spindles ‘D’ with 2 nuts ‘E’ into the holes provided on the other side of the gate. Make sure that both hinge bars and spindles are all inserted the same distance into the gate. 2 I 2 E E D 4. Attach the pedal ‘F’ to the centre of the gate using the two screws ‘G’ provided. 10. Ensure that the gate and the pedal are level when installed and closed. Adjust the spindles and hinge bars at each corner to ensure that the gate is level with the ground. 11. Finally close the gate and clip the hinge covers ‘K’ onto the hinges. These lock the hinge bars into the hinges. They can be removed later, if required, using a screwdriver.
