Installation Guide
Step 10: (If the door operates properly, skip this step). DO NOT work directly in front of the spring winding cones. The
winding bars MUST always be inserted the full depth of the holes in the winding cone and supported (be
prepared to handle a large force and stand to the side) make sure winding bars are always fully inserted
into the hole in the spring winding cone. Before adjusting the spring(s), lock door in the down position and
reinstall the locking pliers on the shaft to keep cables in position on the drums. Insert a winding bar all the
way into a hole in the spring winding cone, while firmly holding on to the winding bar, lift up on the winding bar until
the second bar can be FULLY inserted into a bottom hole. Ease pressure on the upper winding bar until the lower
bar rests against the door holding the spring tension. Remove the upper winding bar and loosen the set screws on
this spring ONLY. If the door is hard to open and falls quickly, increase turns on the spring(s) 1/4 turn at a time, if
the door quickly flies open, decrease turns on the spring(s) 1/4 turn at a time to correct the door operation. Tighten
both set screws in the winding cone of the spring and remove the winding bars as before. Repeat for the second
spring if present. Check operation of door again. Repeat his process as necessary. If door does not balance
correctly – contact a professional installer.
Step 11: After everything is completed and all fasteners (including set screws) have been tightened, lightly oil the
springs, cable and rollers – DO NOT USE GREASE. Reconnect the door operator if present and check operation.
The cables MUST remain tight at fully open position of the opener, if the cables are loose – contact a professional
installer.
