3.2.1. First steps – remote control Open the battery door Insert batteries and close the battery door. Note Point the remote at the IR receiver on the device (reach 5 m at 60 ° angle in both directions). Do not drop the remote control. The remote control must not get wet. Charging accumulator For production safety, this DVD player has got two charging modes: When the player is power on, the charging is slow. When the player is power off, the charging is fast. When charging the control light is lighting red. Is the charging finished the control light lights green.
Note A slow charging mode is approximate 20 hours. A fast charging mode is approximate 5 hours.

5. Use of remote control POWER Press POWER to switch on and off (standby). 0-9 keys Use these keys to enter chapters-, tracks- and channels. SUBTITLE During DVD playback, press SUBTITLE several times in order to select your favourite subtitle language. ANGLE / TTX During DVD playback, press ANGLE / TTX in order to open different camera angles and to switch viewing angles. During DVB-T playback, press ANGLE / TXT to open the videotext.
With ENTER you confirm the menu selection. SETUP With SETUP you open the setting menu. ZOOM During VCD-, SVCD- or DVD playback press ZOOM to enlarge picture. REPEAT / DEL During DVD playback, press REPEAT/DEL to switch from title, chapter and tracks. During DVB-T playback, press REPEAT/DEL to delete a channel. TV / RADIO With TV / Radio you switch in the DVB-T mode from TV to radio program. PRO / EPG Press PRO / EPG to pre-program the playback order.
SOURCE With SOURCE you can switch between the input sources. STEP With STEP will gradually picture for picture. 10+ With 10+ you enter chapter or track numbers higher than 10. PBC / SCAN In the VCD playback, press PBC / SCAN to activate or deactivate PBC. In the DVB-T playback, press PBC / SCAN to search stations. AUDIO With AUDIO you can call or switch the audio languages. Press to start or temporarily stop the playback. Press to stop playback.
MENU With MENU you call the DVD title menu with navigation buttons on or around PBC for VCD discs enable / disable. SKIPPress SKIP- to skip to previous chapter or track. SKIP+ Press SKIP+ to skip to next chapter or track. / PROT During DVD, CD and VCD playback, press / PROT to rapid forward. During DVB-T playback, press / PROT to select the channel protection. MUTE With MUTE you can mute the sound. GO TO With GO TO call a chapter, title or time to play on.
6. Connectors 6.1. Power supply This set works on normal household AC-power. Make sure the set voltage of unit matches your local voltage. Insert the plug oft he AC-cord into a wall outlet with AC-power. 6.2. Headphone To connect the headphones insert the cable into socket on the right side of the unit. When the plug of a headphone is inserted into this jack, the built-in speakers will automatically be disabled. When the headphone is disconnected, the speakers will be re-activated.
6.3. Antenna To connect the antenna inserts the cable into the socket on the left side of the unit. Note In the internet on www.dvb-t.at you can inquire how far or tight your area is covered with DVB-T. 6.4. 3in1 card reader When the device is on insert one of the three compatible memory card (SD / MMC / MS) in the device. You can play MP3 or images. 6.5. USB 1.1 This unit is equipped with a USB socket which can accept and play MP3 and image files stored on standard USB flash drives.
7. Basic operations 7.1. MPEG4 movies MPEG4 disc compatibility with this player is limited as follows: Resolution must not exceed 720 x 576 pixels. Subtitle file may no longer than 56 characters. If the number of screen frame is over 30 per second, this unit may not operate normally. If the video and audio structure of recorded file is not interleaved, either video or audio is outputted. 7.2. Audio CD’s Once an audio CD is inserted it will be played automatically.
Bit rate: 8 to 320 kbps – MP3 / 32 to 192 kbps – WMA CD-R physical format should be ISO 9660. File names should have a maximum of 8 letters and must incorporate an .mp3 or .wma extension. They should not contain special letters. 7.3. JPEG Depending upon the size and number of JPEG files, it could take a long time for the DVD player to read the disc’s contents. There are types for slide show. With PRO/EPG you can select the slide show mode. Picture must be less than 2 megapixels. Max.
The program function enables you to store your favourite tracks from any disc in the player memory: Press PRO / EPG, the program menu appears. Use the keypad 0-9 to direct input the titles, tracks or chapters (single track number with 0, i.e. 05). With , , and select START. To resume normal playback from programmed playback, press PRO / EPG and press STOP button on the program menu. Note Program can be activated only when a disc is in the DVD player.

9.2. Manual Scan Repeatedly press the SOURCE button (on the device or on the remote control) until DVB-T is selected. Press SETUP. Go to DVB-T page. Go to channel settings and than press ENTER. Go to manual scan and press ENTER. Press and to select a frequency you want or press digital number on the remote control. Press ENTER to confirm. The unit will save all digital TV stations and list them below found channels. Note Press PBC / SCAN key to exit manual scan page and start to play program.
9.3. Teletext Press ANGLE/TTX to turn on teletext. With the number keys 0-9 you can open the main pages. With or you go to previous or next page. With or you go to the sub pages. Electronic program guide (EPG) The EPG menu is used to look at what is being broadcast on a TV channel later in the day.
9.4.1. Reserve channel Reserve channel is to remind you the TV program will be start after the time you set before. To access the EPG menu, press PRO/EPG on the remote control. Choose program and press ENTER to access the information. Select OK to reserve this program. 9.5. Move channel With the option channel move you set the order of the programs and settings in the channel list. . Press SETUP. Go to DVB-T page. Highlight a channel to move and press ENTER.
Then go to the new position, where the channel will be sorted again and press ENTER. 9.6. Adjust channel Adjust channel allows you to delete channels, to add the channels to your favorites or protect channels. Press SETUP. Go to DVB-T page. 9.6.1. Favourites With /FAV you fix a favourite channel. Red symbols choose in addition, which indicates that this channel is added to the favourites.
9.6.2. Delete With REPEAT/DEL you delete channels. Green symbol choose in addition, which indicates that this channel is marked up to delete. Note The channel is in the DVB-T setup as deleted, but remains in this list. In the selection of television will he not be shown. This saves the further search and the sender can at any time in the program selection. 9.6.3. Protected Here you can protect channels. With /PROT you protect a channel. Enter the pin code (factory setting 1369) and confirm with OK.
Note If you want to select the protected channel in the program list, so you must entered the password.
10. DVD player 10.1. Insert and removal of discs When opening the CD-door, always ensure the discs is not in motion (not spinning) when you open the CD-door. Always press the “STOP” key to stop the disc spinning first. Place a CD into the compartment with the label-side (printed side of disc) facing upwards. Press down in the center part of disc until the disc “locks” onto the center spindle. When the CD has been placed onto the center spindle, gently lower the CD-door downwards until it locks shut.
11. Setup Menu Press the SETUP button to access the setup menu. Press and to access the different menus. Press and to select items in the menu. Press ENTER to confirm your selection. 11.1. General TV Display 4:3 PANSCAN – Displays complete picture – picture is cut off on the left and right (default setting) 4:3 LETTERBOX – Displays complete picture – picture with black bars on top and button.
Angle mark Displays current angle setting information on the right hand corner of the TFT screen if available on the disc. ON – Angle mark activated. OFF – Angle mark deactivated. OSD language Here you can select the menu language. Note If the language selected is not available on the disc, the disc’s default language will be used instead.
Digital output SPDIF/PCM – 5.1; Select, if your DVD player is connected to the amplifier by means of coaxial cable. The digital output of the player is designed for connection to a Dolby Digital, MPEG receiver or decoder. (5.1) SPDIF/RAW – 2.0; Select, if your player is connected to a digital stereo amplifier. SPDIF/OFF – Deactivation of the Dolby Digital decoder. Closed captions Closed captions are data that are hidden in the video signal of some discs.
Screensaver The activated screensaver turns on, when you’re turnedon DVD player is for more than 3 minutes in stop mode, open or without disk. ON – Screensaver is activated. (default setting) OFF – Screensaver is deactivated. 11.2. Analogue audio settings LT/RT – Choose this setting for cinema sound, if your disc is recorded in Dolby Digital Pro Logic. STEREO – Choose this setting for normal stereo sound.
11.3. Dolby Digital Dual Mono STEREO – Both speakers plays the audio signal. L-MONO – Both speakers plays the left channel spoor. R-MONO – Both speakers plays the right channel spoor. MIX-MONO – Both speakers plays the mixed channel spoor. Dynamic To optimize the dynamic sound output high volume outputs are softened. 11.4. Preference Some preference features can be selected only during no disc condition or stop mode.
TV Type NTSC – Select for TV with NTSC signal system. PAL – Select for TV with PAL signal system. PBC Playback Control only for VCD Activate/deactivate the PBC function. Audio Set the disc audio language. Subtitle Set the disc subtitle language. Disc Menu Set the disc menu language.
Some DVDs may have a parental level assigned to complete disc or to certain scenes on the disc. This feature lets you set a playback limitation level. The rating levels are from 1 to 8 and are country dependent. You can prohibit the playing of certain discs that are not suitable for your children or have certain discs played with alternative scenes. VCD, SVCD and CD have no level indication, so parental control function has no effect on those kinds of discs. This applies to most illegal DVD discs.

13. Troubleshooting No picture Ensure that the equipment is connected properly. Ensure that the input settings fort he TV and stereo system are proper. Point the remote control unit at the sensor on the device and remove the obstacles. The remote control has a range of 8 m. No key operation Turn the unit off and then back to on. Alternatively, turn off the unit, disconnect the AC power cord and the re-connect it (The player may not be operating properly due to lightning, static electricity or some other external factors).
14. Glossary Aspect ratio 4:3 and 16:9 Complete picture is for programs that have been developed for TV display with aspect ratio of 4:3. Wide screen is for aspect ratio of 16:9. If you display wide screen programs on a 4:3 monitor, you will see black bars on the bottom and top. NTSC Quite common TV standard, especially in the U.S. and Asia. 525 lines (480 visible) and 60 Hz updating rate. Explains the way how video information (brightness, colour) are being transmitted. In Europe this standard can only be found with imported media (such as U.S. DVDs). PAL European TV standard PAL mean Phase Alternation Line, 625 lines (576 visible) and 50 Hz updating rate.
