What you will need:
BUY YARN
Put your fingers where your toes would go
and use a flip flop crochet Scrubby to add a
bit of whimsy to your bath time. They’re the
perfect gift for the summertime party host!
Scrubby measures 5" (12.5 cm) long.
Special Technique
Join with sc = Place a slip knot on hook,
insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over
and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw
through both loops on hook.
SCRUBBY
(make 2: 1 each with A & B and B & C)
Sole
With first color, ch 13.
Round 1: Work 2 hdc in 3rd ch from
hook (beginning ch count as first
hdc), hdc in next 9 ch, 3 hdc in last ch,
working in opposite side of foundation
ch, skip first ch, hdc in next 9 ch; join
with slip st in top of beginning ch—24
hdc.
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc here
and throughout), hdc in same st as join,
hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc
in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in
next st, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next
7 sts, 2 hdc in last st; join with slip st in
top of beginning ch—32 hdc.
Round 3: Ch 2, hdc in same st as join,
[hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st] 3 times,
hdc in next 5 sts, [2 hdc in next st, hdc
in next st] 6 times, hdc in next 4 sts, [2
hdc in next st, hdc in next st] 2 times;
join with slip st in top of beginning ch—
44 hdc. Fasten off.
Strap
With 2nd color and leaving a long tail
for sewing, ch 17.
Row 1: Working in back bars only, sc
in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch
across—16 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long
tail for sewing.
Edging
Round 1: Join 2nd color with sc in any st,
sc in each st around; join with slip st in
first sc. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Mark the centered point of the sole
1" (2.5 cm) from top edge. Fold strap
in half and tie a strand of matching
yarn around midsection. Thread ends
of strand through needle, sew through
marked point, and secure. With
beginning and end tails, sew strap to
each side edge of sole, 1½" (4 cm) from
sewn center of strap.
Weave in ends.
